Hi there!

So you're planning on making a youtube channel? And you're planning to do minecraft videos? Well. Good luck with that.
I'm just kidding! I'm here to help aren't I?

So as the days go by, more and more youtube accounts are made with minecraft as their primary focus, so obviously getting found in a sea of other YouTubers doing the same thing as you is gonna be hard. Well, I can help you at least know what you wanna do on your channel, based on how you play minecraft. I'm not guaranteeing this will work for every single person who tries it, but it just might help you.

So I'm going to spilt the rest of this blog post into different youtube commentating strategies/how you play minecraft. Find the one that applies to you most, and go for it! If you apply to more than one, incorporate both of them onto your channel!

The Friend:
Minecraft Personality: You are always in Skype calls with friends playing mini games, survival, all kinds of different games. Most of the time, you're the one who's making the whole call laugh. Most of the time, you and your friends come up with the most hilarious random stuff. Single player just doesn't interest you anymore.
Video Strategy: Funtage, Funtage, Funtage. Incase you didn't know, a 'funtage' is a combinations of funny or strange moments in one short video. This technique is probably the hardest to keep up with, as it's gonna take a long time to get videos out. The best thing to do, is jump in a call with your friends, turn on that recording device, and just have fun! The only way to really get good quality out of you and your friends humor, is to not tell them your recording! Most of the time, you or your friends will act different when they know they're being recorded.

The Technician:
Minecraft Personality: You're in your single player world, and the only thing on your mind is 'Should i put a repeater here, or here?' Most player's inventories are filled with swords, or picks, but you are the one with 2 stacks of a variety of redstone, repeaters, and blocks. The only challenging part of minecraft to you is getting your redstone, not putting it together. You'd much rather be in a creative world figuring out how to make a working toilet using redstone, than out in your world exploring and killing mobs.
Video Strategy: Tutorials! Please share your knowledge with the world! A piston door may not seem like anything to you, but to another player you're speaking another language. Keep exploring and tempting the boundaries of redstone and record it! Make nice, clean videos explaining how you made you're piston elevator, and you'll grow yourself an audience. Of course, have some other games you play, most likely your single player world with all your epic redstone creations!

The Explorer:
Minecraft Personality: You've built your house and have your stables setup with your horses, but there's something bothering you about settling down. That's probably because your an explorer. You have to explore all of the biomes before you can get comfortable at one single place. Caving even gets boring after a while. You just need to see the surface and the mobs to feel comfortable.
Video Strategy: Challenges. Challenges? Yes. You need to come up with challenges for yourself. Examples, find and kill every mob in the game, explore every biome, see how far you can travel in one direction without dying, etc. The less life-threatening (as in avoiding 'until you die' challenges) challenges will probably be best for a series of episodes. Find new and interesting challenges every week or so and challenge yourself to explore!

The Peaceful:
Minecraft Personality: Hostile mobs!!! AHH! You hate hostile mobs. Creepers, skeletons, zombies, and spiders. The 4 main things that keep you from playing the beautiful game of minecraft. You find yourself jumping into your single player world and instantly clicking to your menu to make sure it's on peaceful.
Video Strategy: Mods. You need to find a mod pack that fits you. One that focuses on the beauty of minecraft, not the mobs of the night. Shaders is definitely recommended if you have a beefy computer that can handle it. Focus on bunnies and nature instead of creepers and caves. This is a tough way to record, as most mod packs require a pretty decent computer to record and play. There's no specific way to record this, it's more about the looks of things, so maybe focus on building a bit more, or exploring the new nature and biomes your mods add.

The Builder:
Minecraft Personality: Block by block you finally finished your mansion. Oh wait what is that? A Dragon invading your castle? You really know what you're talking about when it comes to which blocks go with what blocks. You often find yourself on creative building servers/single player. Most of the time you're off by yourself making your amazing creation.
Video Strategy: Speed Builds. You need to spoil yourself with another account, and some decent editing software. Have your second account at a nice vantage point and build away. Go into your video software, and speed that thing up! Same thing with you and your building team. The other choice you have is to do tutorials. You have a talent, and you need to share it with the world. This block goes with that, use cobblestone walls to show depth, whatever fancy stuff comes to mind while you're building something.

The Miner:
Minecraft Personality: Diamonds… Need DIAMONDS. Do you even remember what the sun looks like? Probably not. The only textures you ever see are, stone and ores, with the occasional lava pool. You're the richest on the server, and everyone is amazed by your shiny diamond armor.
Video Strategy: This is a tough one. I would recommend trying one of the other 'personalities'. If you feel you're still stuck on mining and can't seem to get away from it, try doing some Q & A's as you're mining. You can also try teaching newbies how to mine by explaining efficient strip mining and caving techniques.

The PVP Professional:
Minecraft Personality: 'WHAT I TOTALLY HIT HIM!' Is the majority of what you're saying when you're on your favorite pvp server. You are challenged to 1v1s every other game from raging players as you kill them with your diamond sword. Factions is most likely your favorite type of server, as you love the rush you get when you raid or kill someone.
Video Strategy: For this one, it splits into 2 main categories; Factions and simple PVP. A PVPer that enjoys Factions, should go and do that! Record yourself raiding that base, or building your underground base. Someone who enjoys just straight up PVP should most likely grab some friends in a Skype call, and dominate the field. Skywars, Survival games, whatever you fancy.

That's all I have for right now… I couldn't think of any other personalities. If this helped you in anyway, or you have some constructive criticism, please don't hesitate to put a comment down below.
If you haven't seen my other post, it's a tutorial for server owners and what to expect before making a server, and all the prepping stuff. ( www.planetminecraft.com/blog/server-owner-warning-guide/ ) I got some pretty good support on that, so I decided to sit down and write another one! I'd really appreciate if someone could give me an idea for another post. I enjoy writing these and helping people, and having another Idea to write about would be awesome!

Thanks for reading!

I watched your Clash of Clans lightning spell video (which is awesome, by the way) and I think you would be a technician.
