"drake..." i stuttered out as i sat there next to him. his hand was near mine and i could feel his heat.
"whats ups?" he said turning to me. i could feel his glance move to my eyes and i looked away.
"what do you mean by.. sister.." i whispered remebering Lexi and Midnight were alseep. he sighed and looked down to the floor.
"i couldnt save my brother from the gurads so... its sort of like.......i.......i feel like i need to protect you. you also have alot to learn. sure your good at fighting, but... have you ever thought of how you have other ways to .... protect yourself." he replied. i looked down to his hand it was a good distance from mine but i wanted to reach over an hold his hand. he looked at my eyes then down to his hand. his stiffened and i could see a flicker of umcomfort in his eyes.
"sorry.." i mumbled i looked away. he didnt say anything he just sat there. he started to laugh. what was so funny? i wrinkled my eye brow and looked at him. he just looked at me and grinned.
"it nothing dont worry." he got up and walked to lexi. Midnight came over to me and licked my hand. i picked her up and hugged her. at least she loved me.

i woke up to find Lexi and Drake gone. i felt like my heart did a flip and knocked in to my stomache. i woke midnight up and we both came out of the wagon. i looked around. we were clearly not at the new town. from the ground it looked like i was still in the forest near my home. the thing is i could see a bit of water. stream? i climb up a tree leaving midnight sitting on the ground and whining. she looked up at me. i climbed to the highest branch that could still support me. the 'stream' turned out to be a lake. no matter how good this town was, i was set on staying here. the lake was so clear that i could clearly see all the fishes. it was so beautiful. i heared a giggle from below. i jumped down and the whole slow movetion feel strted again. i saw the ground coming toward so i put my feet in postion. i landed on my two feet but a bit off balanced.i walked to a tree that was about 10 tree away from the one i climbed. i frooze. drake was there. he wasnt alone. lexi was with him. then were making out. lexi pulled away from drakes lips and drake opened his eyes. he frowned. he mumbled some thing and then saw me. his eyes widened. i faked a smile and waved. i slowly wlaked back to midnight.
"Sam?" drake called. he didnt move. i was glad when i reached midnight she whined and licked my hand.
"..um..wanna.. run for a bit?' i ask midnight. she sniffed and looked up to the sky. it was gray. i smiled even though tears were still coming down my eyes. i have a weird love for rain.
"your not scared of rain are you girl?" i teased looking back down as it stared to drizzle. i stared to jog around the lake with midnight by my side. i cried alittle too. i guess the reason i love rain the most is that its hard to tell if im crying when there water dripping down your face. rain is just the earth crying. because if you think about it.. everything needs to cry, or they would crack.
