I originally wrote this story on ShadowBlade. I've since left that server on good terms, and this has undergone serious editing. It does not, nor will it ever, include Herobrine. He's overdone.
Enjoy!
At first, there was nothing. Then the worlds spawned. That, after all, is how the world works. First among the dimensions was the Nether, a realm of eternal flame. Neutral was followed by Evil, as the End formed from the particles of the raging Void. But not all was lost.
For the next and final world, at least among those confirmed to exist, was the Overworld, a dimension of light and Good, known to some as the Living Realm, for it is the only dimension where entirely peaceful life exists. The Realms were in place - history could begin.
The Overworld spawned the Ancients, a race simple in technology yet advanced in society. Over the centuries, they created a vast civilization, full of wonders such as players have never matched. But architecture was not their only feat. They developed Magic, the science of bending the laws of nature itself to achieve great things. The players of today utilize it in their feeble Enchanting Tables, but the Ancients used it for a far more noble purpose - creating life. They invented Pigs, then Cows, Chickens, and Bats for their farms. The Postal Service designed Horses to speed across the prairies and deliver mail. The Miners improved upon the concept in the form of Spiders. They could see in the dark due to their incredible eyes, scuttle up walls with their six legs, and had better balance due to their decreased height. With the help of these Creatures, the Ancients prospered.
The Nether had brought about the Pigmen. They were intelligent, they were curious, they were resilient. These characteristics gave them the edge over the Nether's harsh environment as they explored and build. They never neglected their baths (in lava. of course). Their fate is troubling, but must its telling must be delayed to another chapter.
But the End had far more sinister purposes. For the life force of that dimension had fashioned a Being, and dissolved into it. The dimension died, but Ender was born. Such a name should not be spoken lightly, and my hand trembles to write it. As the End's life drained into the void, Ender sat upon his Towers, and plotted.
So the stage was set for the history that has been. Soon, the Dimensions would collide.
