Hello PMCers,
Gerenzoo here with my first interview.
Today I interviewed Doggle, a well known Moderator.
He is a great person and us both think that it is important to let the community know who he really is.
So lean back and enjoy the interview with Doggle. Let the show begin:
How old are you?
As many people probably know, I am 14, quite young, both in real life and in the gaming community people feel I am a lot older, the other day, I was mistaken as a 17 year old, but I am quite mature, but, I am 14.
Where do you live?
I live in Australia, this is another quite well known thing about me.
What is your favourite meal?
I have no idea, probably cereal :P. I love to eat cereal, all sorts of cereal.
What is your life motto?
My life motto would probably be "Don't give up, there is always something/someone out there for you". I have had experiences where I haven't had friends, where I have been attacked, lost, confused, and not know a direction in life. This has kept me on track and has let me have good, close friends who care for me and kept me on track to having a good life.
What was the most brilliant thing that happened in your life?
The most brilliant thing... I am not sure, I don't even think my life is that good, it is above average, but I don't think I have had a brilliant moment as the times such as when I get married, I have kids, I get engaged, I leave school and all those big moments ahead in life. But the most brilliant thing that has happened, was meeting my two best friends, Horogium and Triplee16 (although I met them at different times).
Describe yourself with one word:
Ugly :P. I am ultra ugly, 'cos, well I am. But other than that I would say "enduring". I push through things and try to get things done to the best of my ability.
What was your biggest dream in your childhood?
My biggest dream when I was young, was probably being a famous rockstar. Hasn't happened yet but I am pretty good when it comes to drums and percussion. I am pretty good and fast becoming one of the best drummers in my school and band.
When did you start playing video games?
I started playing video games when I was about four, I think World Rally Championship was the first game I played, I forget which one though.
When did you have your first computer?
I first played on a computer when I was 4 as well, although not very often. My first actual computer was when I was 7, it was a very basic computer but I used to just play some simple flash games back then on the computer.
When did you discover this glorious blocky game Minecraft?
I first saw it at one of my old friends' house. I think it was late alpha, I didn't like it, until I played it about a month later at his house again. My friend, he bough it for my birthday then in Beta 1.7
What was your motivation to sign up to Planet Minecraft?
I didn't have a motivation, I had a few things I wanted to know about which lead to me being here. I had no idea I would end up blogging and this sort of thing.
What can you say about the community?
The community is really nice, sure there are a few spoilt eggs which ruin the bunch, but that is the same to be said with any culture, group or race. There is always the odd few who make the rest look bad. But I generally like the community, I respect it and it respects me, probably one of the nicer gaming communities, some communities like CoD community can be quite harsh and unforgiving, which is the nice thing about the Minecraft community and pmc in specific.
Who are your closest PMC Friends?
Probably Horogium and Triplee16. I like to hang around in chat with a few of my pmc friends but I can't remember all of their names :(
What can you say for new PMCers to help them getting started?
You are starting out on pmc, you don't need to hope big, and expect moderator on the first day and be famous instantly. I saw many members rise and fall and rise back again in my time before I became "big" and now have "fans" (even though I banned "My biggest fan" who was actually just spamming me in the end). When you start off, you don't want to aim for the best things, getting 10 subscribers, 5 diamonds, a favourite from another member and feedback is a decent goal. I remember when I started I wanted to just be big, but that wasn't the best thing for me, it made me feel bad about uploading and like no body cared. But it was worth my while to wait and not give up. Never give up, don't aim big and enjoy your day and your life.
