Is Minecraft Sexist?!
hey guys dubzayy here and today i want to talk about minecraft being sexist, i've been thinking about this topic for quite some time now and i've always wanted to discuss it.
Ever since 2009 when Minecraft was first released you played as the character Steve (well until you changed your skin) which is a male, you could only play as a male and NEVER had the choice to play as a female when you start off.
By doing this was Notch pointing this game towards male players? Was notch trying to be sexist? Or was it just a plain mistake to never add in a female character?
I have seen many rants about there being no female character at the start of the game, so why doesn't Mojang just implement this small feature.
After seeing so many rants i started to think is mojang trying to be sexist? last year (2013) Mojang announced they will be adding genders to minecraft...... but ....... 1 year later and there is still no Genders!? Another idea is that mojang did not implement this because it would interfere with their multiplayer system.

What Im Trying to say
by making this small blog i just wanted to ask " Is Minecraft Sexist?!" i want your guys opinions on this topic so comment below!

Steve is genderless. It's been debated over constantly, but officially Steve is genderless. Sure you can change your skin, but you always start out genderless.

This is actually accurate ^. Everything is generless if you pay attention to the animals. Cows have not only utters but horns as well. Chickens have the same effect. I think notch actually saw subjects like this arising. So no minecraft is not sexist. (And if you think about it steve is just a skin option. You can easily change your skin. A gender option would just undermine skin creativity).

Notch was gonna add on to mainecraft by adding some female characters, but that was in the alpha stage. My main point is that Notch was NOT trying to be sexy.  He probly had so much things to do (e.g. make the xbox, ps3 versions) and fix the bugs. BTW I like the blog too! SUB+FAV+DIAMOND!

No, Minecraft isn't sexist. You're one of those people who take the smallest things that hardly anyone noticed and then tries to make it a big problem.

"Ever since 2009 when Minecraft was first released you played as the character Steve (well until you changed your skin)"
This answers your foolish question. Why would Mojang a small amount of time to add a female character when they could just spend a little more time creating a way for players to change their skins so they could be anything they wished to be? Wether it be a male, female, a block, a mob ect. With that answered this blog is now pointless since you've already answered your question within your blog.

Minecraft can't be sexist really because 1) Mojang works with fe-males 2) Even if it wasn't there are perverts who (Sorry if you're young guys.) ask "GIVE THEM BOOBS." or "MAKE THEM SKINNY LOL." 3) Choosing gender would be odd because there is no point to it in-game. You can just customize you're character, and its easy as that and 4) They removed the alpha hurt noises because of sexism. (In theory.)
