It's the server

Anyone here knows that 90% of Minecraft is it's servers. From those great SMP's to the Creative Worlds. But what is your favorite server, and why? (Yeah, time for some epic advertising)

I've jumped on quite a few servers in the past few days, checking out how they run, and their community. Needless to say, over half of them had lag so bad that the lag didn't even realize that it had lag! You could be running around like usual, other people moving like usual, but on their screen you could be standing in front of them, even if in reality you are 12 chunks away. They can still hit you when they see you there, and you are left standing there like "Srs, WTF!?1". I'm not going to post links to those servers as I don't believe in spreading bad publicity.

But there are some servers that have been really friendly, and just plain awesome. About 2 weeks ago, a server called Exitium (or Extium, they like to change the spellings) opened up, and I had a try of it. It was a cracked Pvp server, but epic. The owners were nice (depending if you were nice to them) and the community seemed so friendly that when they killed someone, they would return all their items, including all the diamonds. Unfortunately I'm not sure if the server is still up, no one can connect and some server sites say that it's offline (this one doesn't), so if you ever played on the server you might have to find a new one.

There is also my main server that I really enjoy, theminecraftserver.tk (epic name, don't you agree?).
There is a lot of work going on right now, changing to an RPG fantasy styled server (like The Lord of The Rings) and it should be ready and finished for the 1.8 update (yeah, server worlds needed to be restarted in order to play with the 'Adventure Update'.

There are many servers that treated me like an ordinary player (which I enjoy) until they found out my gender. Then everyone wanted to be my friend, wanted to help me build... I hate that feeling, makes you feel useless, and it makes everyone else think that you always need help (see creeperCarole's "GGG" blog).

Any-who, that's enough for my rant on servers. I recently saw a Minecraft video (it was posted about 2 months ago, and it's got 150,000 views) and I just thought it was awesome. What happens when Bear Grylls goes Minecraft? He turns into Chonny, a loveable "lets play" styled Youtuber. Anyone who wants more videos like this, I advice you spam him with requests, as he seems to have every game out there.
