The first of October.
Dear journal,
My cabin is getting a bit quiet. I think I'll go stay at the inn for a change of scenery.
The walk to the town was amazing, all the leaves are yellow.
The Second of October.
Dear journal,
I'm being sent on a mission today. I don't think it's anything important, I'm meeting my employer in the town the job will be done in.
It's not too far away, just a day's ride. I'll write when I arrive.
The third of October.
Dear journal,
The journey is taking longer then expected, good thing the job isn't time sensitive.
The fourth of October.
Dear journal,
I've arrived at the town. It's a quiet large town, I wouldn't even call it a town, it's more of a city. I think I've heard about this place actually.
I met my employer at a bar, we talked for a few minutes then paid me 300 coin in advance. I'm starting to think this isn't the unimportant job I was thinking it was...
The sixth of October.
Dear journal,
I completed the mission. Fingerprints for confirmation:

He was some head of security.
My employer paid me 10,000 coin.
*A few next pages are smeared with blood, making it almost unreadable*

The twentieth of October.
Dear journal,
I'm lucky to be alive... I was attacked by some people, I don't know who, but after they stabbed me I heard them talking about something... I don't know what, but I have this feeling of dread.
Long story short, they got the slip on me and stabbed me. I was helped by the local physician, they said I was out for two days. Then I just forgot to journal for a couple days.
The twenty-second of October.
I slept most of yesterday, my wounds are pretty bad...
The twenty-third of October.
I can walk now.
But in my time immobilized, I think I've become more thoughtful.
The twenty-sixth of October.
Dear journal,
"Sometimes time is the greatest threat."
... I can't remember who told me that, it might've been my father. But all I know is that it's true. Especially when it comes to relationships.
I know because I let it take hold, I let it's icy fingers wrap around my arm and pull me away. And now it feels as if a thousand kingdoms lay between us. Between me and my family. The last time I saw them was... Ages ago. I've been meaning to see them, but work always gets in the way. I send them letters now and then, but it's not enough. I need to spend a few nights at home and repair my relationship with them.
The twenty-seventh of October.
Dear journal,
I'm now able to walk unaided.
The physician has bought me a room in one of the cities inns. I'm going to repay him someday. He refuses anything I have now, so I'll just wait.
The twenty-eighth of October.
Dear journal,
I think I'm going to start my journey back.
Why did I say I think? I know. I am going to start my journey back.
The twenty-nineth of October.
Dear journal,
I visited a blacksmith in a village on my way back. I bought some very nice light armor.
The thirtieth of October.
Dear *pencil trails off*
The thirty-first of October.
Dear journal,
I almost got robbed yesterday. Luckily they were just lowlife thugs.
November-first.
Dear journal,
I've arrived at my hometown. That feeling of dread hasn't left, if anything it's increased.
November sixth
Dear journal,
My family is dead.

Have something to say?
Out of curiosity, are you wanting me to tie some of the lore about this into the role-play? Like meeting your family's killer or learning of what killed them? Something like that?
And absolutely!
(They got killed by the same people who stabbed him)
