My name is Jeremy. I live as an Evillager on the Island of Howling Peaks. We all recently rebelled against the Illager army. They were very unfair to us. We are prepared for an all out war. I am writing this from the comfort of my home, with two children around me. This is some kind of diary, and I'm not sure what to write about. If a war happens I'll be sure to write about it, but I'm not sure that one will happen. I hope it does not. But maybe it will. The idea scares me.
If it means anything to you, whoever is reading this in the future, I am a simple beet farmer. I farm beets. Beets are a loveable vegetable. They taste very good. Anyway I have lived a very fine life, as a farmer. I have no intent to quite. I suppose that whoever is reading this 100s of years in the future is not interested in my daily life. You don't care, correct? Well if you want some valuable accounts of history, I can't help you. My life is too simple, and frankly I don't care what you want as a future historian. I am writing this not as some kind of time capsule, but as a recollection of memories for when I'm 90 years old.

The war I talked about 2 months ago is starting. A group of Illagers just arrives on a boat. They're killing people on the evillage below me. They are slow climbers, and I may outclimb their hunt if I hurry!

My son fell and hurt himself. We're staying to keep him healthy, but the Illagers are climbing quickly. The Windscallers are managing to keep them at a distance. They've massacred many people on this island.

My son is dead. I'm being allowed one last cruel entry into my book before I also am killed. My wife is dead, my son is dead, and my other son is as well. I'm being given one last entry. This is it. In short my life never amounted to anything. My life was never anything. In addition to being a nothing I never threatened or hurt anyone. I never hurt anyone and yet here I am, captured by Illagers. About to be murdered. They Illagers are unjust! They are killing innocent people like me. May anyone who reads this be aware of their evil. Down with the Illagers. I doubt that they will even let anyone see this book. I think they'll burn it. Like they do anything that could cause rebellion among their ranks!
