Yes, what you see here comes from vanilla Minecraft.
During my last experiments I found myself in a world composed fully by interference.
This was totally by accident and and was not the objective of my initial experiment...
Well since I was there, I thought it would've been nice to take a look around and maybe take some photos of the strange phenomena that surrounded me, before moving on and erasing that world from existence like the many that came before.
Here you can find a small dynamic gallery of my journey in that strange land.
All these captures have been performed in minecraft 1.15, unmodded and with no datapacks, the gifs are realtime game footage without any postprocessing.
What you see here recorded is basically what everybody would see by just walking and looking around, if you stood still the pattern would freeze. This because what you see here is the aliasing of an interference pattern, varying with player angle and position.
Even if it's just some interference, I enjoyed my time there and find its flickering and oscillating waves relaxing...
What do you think about instead? :-)

- Why that colour?
- Is it supposed to be empty an world?
-The color comes from the material I was testing on, interferences of other colors are achievable
-Well, this is a superflat world, I was actually building something in it, but in these conditions is too confusing to build, the gifs are from empty plains, so that the phenomenon can be seen in all its "glory" :-D
