Hey there

Just a quick mention about LambdaControls in 1.18, no fanfare or presentation required — it still works! Problem is, you have no UI to play around with. To modify settings, you have two options:
  1. Open your game directory for the 1.18.1 instance with LambdaControls and open /config/lambdacontrols.toml
  2. Install 1.17.1 and Fabric for this temporary instance to configure LambdaControls there
If following option 2, copy or symlink lambdacontrols.toml and the jar from the 1.17.1 instance into the 1.18.1 instance.

If following option 1, and all you are using LambdaControls for is reacharound then open lambdacontrols.toml, set arguments in boolean toggles defined at lines 30 and 32 to true and save. Please do not use this for cheating, anyone who does is scum of the Earth who deserves decapitation for their head to be mounted on a pike as a warning to other would-be cheaters whatever prosperity they've gained short-term will be seized and squandered long-term.

You just need to install Mod Menu. Don't mind the stuff I striked out.

OptiFine?

Yes, it still works with OptiFine if you modify /mods/lambdacontrols-1.7.1+1.17.jar as explained in this previous blog post. No, LambDAurora will not remove OptiFabric from the list of mods which break it (and cause loading to halt) in fabric.mod.json as they still campaign against the use of OptiFine. If they elect to discontinue development on the sole basis people are catching on to how easy it is to work around the OptiFabric limitation, they'll lose any respect I ever had with them guaranteed.

I still encourage you to check out Sodium though, as with Iris, OK Zoomer, LambDynamicLights anf CTM for Fabric you can almost get all of OptiFine's features. And if you care about perf that much, that's all you really need (except for shaders, because shaders nerfs perf). But I foster no respect for people who want to cast unnecessary limitations for pushing an agenda rather than explaining and letting their solution stand on its own merits to express for itself.

Do better, Lamb. I've proven your mod works with OptiFIne (at least, without shaders), let your next update permit use of OptiFabric out of the box.

Update: it happened

Bit late, silent update for this post but LambdaControls has been discontinued. Probably because Lamb couldn't stand being asked to enable OptiFIne, especially because the fix for it was so easy. MidnightControls is where it's at now, and CurseForge has a special "Extra" expansion which enables the reacharound stuff this mod has. Use that instead.

Just use Mod Menu : by Hebgbs 02/09/2022 10:59:29 amFeb 9th, 2022

Bit of a dunce moment from me, but _of course_ Lamb would had made it work with Mod Menu. What a novice mistake from me!
