When I regained my vision and consciousness, I saw at my malfunction menu, that my chest, arms and legs were badly damaged. I looked at my body, and I saw my body was dented, and some parts were broken and wires were loose. I tried to move, and luckily I could. Barely. I weakly stood up, and began limping to the path leading up to the mansion. After an hour of limping and falling, I reached the mansion. I saw Ruby running towards me with a worried expression. Behind her, was Lily, with tears in her eyes. “Daurine!! Are you alright?” Ruby asked, as she went to help me walk. I shook my head. “I’m not okay.. I’m badly damaged. My legs, arms and chest are badly damaged. I am in need of repair.” I said. Ruby then called a Cyborg Ambulance. “The ambulance is coming in a couple minutes.” She said. Lily was crying, so I smiled weakly, and weakly spread my arms, and she hugged me. I gently wrapped my arms around her. “I will be alright Lily, don’t worry..”




I kept her in my arms until I heard the sirens of the Cyborg Ambulance. I then broke out of the hug, and slowly looked at the ambulance. It was a sleek spaceshift, capable of flying in both gravity and non-gravity areas. It landed, and a few men came out with a stretcher, they carefully picked me up and laid me down on it. They then ran into the ambulance, and placed me in a standby pod. A standby pod is a tube, where cyborg are placed in to be put in standby mode, safe from dangers, since the pod is almost indestructible. The men closed the tube, and the color from my eyes faded, meaning I am in standby mode. I was temporarily unable to do anything. For what felt like a second later, I was able to be active again. The bright blue color came back to my eyes, and I looked around.




I saw i was lying on a medical bed, and then a familiar face came up to me. Dr. Quinn. “Hello.. Daurine, if I remember correctly, the Emperor gave you that name.” I nodded, and said: “Correct, Dr. Quinn.” He smiled, but it quickly turned to concern. “What happened to you to be in this state?” I sighed, and began to explain. “I was playing hide and seek with Lily at the back of the mansion, which is located at a steep cliff, where I saw a person. I shot it, and went to investigate when I got pushed off the cliff by someone my system didn’t spot.” Dr. Quinn looked even more concerned, mixed with confusion. “That’s weird.. your system is made to spot any creature, that person must’ve had some kind of device to have the system not notice them… but that can be worked out of the way by upgrading your system. Therefore, we have to temporarily shut you down, in order to upgrade your system and to repair you.” He paused for a moment. “It is basically being put into standby mode, but manually. I have to put you in standby mode, and out of it.” He looked at me, I was silent the whole time, and just nodded. He then took a device, and attached it to my head. “This will put you in standby mode in three, two, one.” I heard a beep and then nothing.




Dr. Quinn then went to work. Detachment of all the damaged parts, and replacing them. He removed my head, that was the only intact part, and attached it to a clone of my body. He then removed my brain, and placed in a tube, where he updated my system. He upgraded the scanning program, now being able to identify the gender, height, and looks of targets, and on multiple frequencies, so any distortion device won’t work because the device doesn’t work on multiple frequencies at once. He gave my brain a upgrade, now being able to process, analyze and calculate things even faster. When he was done, he installed the programs, and manually put me out of my standby mode.




I heard a beep, and opened my eyes. My system did a malfunction check, and it showed none. I smiled, and looked at Dr. Quinn. “Thank you, Dr. Quinn.” He smiled back. “No problem Daurine. I am just doing my job.” My eyes lit up and I tested out my new abilities. I saw a little “Updated Programs” bar, which has the list.

• Updated Scanning Program. Updated identifying. Gender identifier, height identifier, appearance identifier on multiple frequencies at once. Updated surrounding scanner. Now able to detect entities on multiple frequencies at once
• Updated Processing. Updated analyzing speeds, updated calculation speeds.

I looked at Dr. Quinn, and saw his gender, which is male, his height, 1.83 meters, and I saw his appearance. Quite tall, messy black hair, hazel brown eyes and a lab coat. All in the little menu at the edge of my vision. “This is a pretty neat piece of technology..” I said. Dr. Quinn smiled, and said: “Thanks! I developed it myself!” I smiled back. “I guess I will have to get back to Lily..” I stood up. “I suppose I’ll see you soon, Daurine..” I got a grim expression on my face. “I’ll make sure to have it not be soon.” I then left the room, and headed to the public Cybertrain. I had to travel to the town near the mansion, Ryot. I stepped on the train, and with me were four men, who looked like they had malicious intentions. I sat in the middle, and two men sat next to me on either side. I couldn’t help but have my guard up, which in my case, have my movement detection system working on maximum capacity. The train took off. I sat there, in silence. One of the men reached into his pocket, and I prepared to defend myself. The man coughed, and I felt the other three men reach into their pocket, one both hands, and pulled out a handkerchief, and pretended to sneeze. When he sneezed, the men pulled out their pistols and i got my cybernetic sword, stabbed the man at my right in his heart and then his head, and used him as a shield against the bullets, when the men shot, I threw his body at two men, who ducked away to get out of the body’s trajectory. That gave me enough time to switch to the machine guns and shoot them in their heads, while simultaneously slicing through the last man’s throat with my cybernetic sword. When he dropped to the floor, bleeding and desperately gasping for air, I stabbed him in his neck. Then, i turned to the other man I stabbed, he somehow survived, so i simply shot him. The floor of the train slowly turned red from the blood, but i didn’t care less. I sat back down, and waited for the train to arrive at Ryot. When it did, and I stepped out, drenched in the blood that spew out of the men, the floor dripping with blood and the corpses, people looked at me like I was a murderer. But I kept walking, to the mansion.




Upon arrival, I knocked on the door, and Ruby opened. Once she saw me, she looked shocked. “What have you been doing?!” She asked. I walked inside and closed the door, and then began explaining. “So, i was on my way to here in the CyberTrain when I got attacked by four men, and i defended myself. I assume you don’t want me to go to talk about it in detail.” She nodded. “You’re correct. No detailed explanation. I get it. Well, go shower, before Lily sees you.” So I nodded and ran upstairs, to the bathroom. I locked myself in and began washing the blood off of my robotic body. Once I was done and got out, Lily was there, outside the bathroom. She hugged me and said: “Welcome back home! I missed you so much! Thank goodness you could get repaired! Otherwise I would’ve been very sad!” I smiled, and tilted her up in my arms. At that moment, Daniel, the Emperor came up the stairs, looking quite annoyed. He glanced at me. “Oh, you’re repaired…” He looked annoyed. I looked back at him. “Is there something wrong, emperor?” I asked. He replied with: “Yes, something hasn’t happened what I thought would happen.” He then went into his office and closed the door. I saw on my digital watch at the side of my vision that it was getting late, and that Lily was getting drowsy I looked at Lily. “I think it’s time for you to go to bed, Lily.” Lily pouted. “But I don’t wanna go to bed.. I want to be with you!” I smiled, and walked into her room. “How about I watch you fall asleep?” I asked, while picking Lily up and heading to her room. She then nodded and said in a very tired but adorable voice: “Okay then… but tomorrow we’ll play again!” She looked at me expectantly, I smiled and chuckled. She’s so adorable.. even when she’s tired.. irresistible.. it’s as if I’d knew her for years.. something about her feels so.. familiar.. the smell of her hair, the sweet cherry mixed with strawberry.. it feels so familiar.. I shrugged it off, and laid her in bed. I packed her in, in the way my systems stated she liked it the most, the blankets wrapped around her like she’s in a cocoon, with only her head peeking out of the blankets. She looked at me, with her drowsy eyes and with the same tone, she said: “Daurine..? You’ll stay with me until I sleep right?” I nodded. “I promise.” She looked content and closed her eyes. I turned the light off, letting only my eyes emit a barely noticeable blue glow. I stayed in her room, standing next to her bed, motionless. Watching her. How she fell asleep. Once she was asleep, i silently left the room. I went to my room, and opened the door and turned the light on.
