For the Minedeas contest, my blog will consist of several ideas. Mob waves, new items [Gear] [Weapons] [Ores] [Food], and new structures.
During my first year in middle school, I played Plants vs. Zombies. If you know this game, it'll be easier to understand what I'm talking about, cuz it'll be somehow similar to it. If you don't, I'll tell you what it is now. So, this game contains numerous waves of different types of zombies. For example, conehead zombies, miner zombies, ameican-football zombies, even Michael Jackson zombies. Instead of these different kinds of zombies, they could be creepers, skeletons, endermen, spiders, zombie pigmen, and ghasts. However, they won't appear all at once, or else it will be too hard for players to survive Minecraft days and nights.

So, here's how it works:
note* It will only work on Single Player
-Every 7th Night in Minecraft, there will be an abnormal number of mobs spawning around the player and their fortress
-to set up your own fortress, stand on the lowest block of your fortress and type /setpoint f2, then go to the highest point of your fortress and type /setpoint f1
-The waves will last about 2~3minutes each
-After 2 or 3 waves of mobs, the player will be given rewards, automatically placed in their inventory
-Rewards received will be on the player's profile on minecraft.net as a award banner

New items added!
-Sun Ore & Sun Ingot & Sun Block & Sun Armor
Reflects fire balls shot by Ghasts, stronger than diamond armor, replaces Emeralds
-Dark Ore & Dark Ingot & Dark Block & Dark Armor
Increases damage inflicted on mobs, stronger than diamond armor, same as sun ore armor, same discovery rate as Emeralds
-Emblems
Dropped by boss mobs. Carrying them around in the emblem section will decrease damage caused by certain mobs mentioned in emblems
-Zombie Emblem
Causes zombies to take extra damage from bleeding, 25% chance of getting from Zombie Kings
-Creeper Emblem
Reduces damage from creeper explosions, 15% chance of getting from Creeper Kings
-Skeleton Emblem
Poisons Skeletons by a 10% chance, 30% chance of getting from Skeleton Kings
-Wither Emblem
Makes Wither Skeletons unable to cause wither effects when hit by a 5% chance, 20% chance of getting from Wither Skeleton
-Spikes
Can be placed on ground, inflicts damage on any living creature, 2 heart damage. Made from 2 iron ingots, same layout as flint&steel.
-Coffee Bean
Can be made into Warm Coffee (a bowl and 1 coffee bean), same effect as Strength II 4:00, Regeneration II 1:00, Night Vision 2:00. Only found at temples.

Found in the sky around desert biomes, a small sacrifice area will be overground, containing a beacon shooting a ray of light up towards the sky, showing where it is located.

Found in snow biomes, over ground will be a sacrifice area, with several skeletons spawning more than usual. The temple will be straight under where the sacrifice area will be.

These are some ideas for the contest that I have thought of. Some reasons that I thought it would be an improvement to the game is that some players could want something harder than normal level, but easier than hardcore mode. As you all know, hardcore mode is extremely difficult to survive. Also, players could be bored of limited items in the normal world, which puts the temples into use. They can search for temples, adventuring and exploring the world, fighting off mobs as they go. You might think this is similar to MobArena, but it contains unique items and special emblems that could make the game more interesting. No Mod Installers will be required, making it easier.
