Intro:
This idea for a blog was already in my head for a long time,
but I never had the blocks to make a blog out of it.
Now ExtraLife is going on here on PMC, I finally feel like making,
and sharing it with you <3
The main goal of this blog is to help people
understand that there are people with diseases that play minecraft,
and that they sometime feel better by playing this awesome game.
There are many people on this world that play minecraft and have a diseases, just like me.
But I don't really have a diseases that could kill me,
but it is still hard to live with, and minecraft
sometimes helps me do things I cant do in RL because of my diseases.
Where I am going to focus on in my blog:
- Types of diseases.
- How it is combined with minecraft
- How it makes your life better with minecraft.
- ...
diseases:
Asthma
(This diseases is chosen because it is one of the diseases I have myself)
Asthma and minecraft are two total different things,
But they are thing people with asthma cant do in their daily life,
and can do in minecraft!
Things like this are for example:
"Running like a maniac without die-ing afterwards because you cant breath any more"
"Walk/run through a forest without getting an asthma-attack"
"Never have to use your inhaler"
As a minecraft player and an asthmatic person myself,
I just love to run through biomes, build big houses,
make a nice garden and climb on hills.
If I wanted to do stuff like this in RL,
I would been hardly able to do it.
Now, I can run for a decent distance, but in minecraft,
I can almost run 24/7 (as long I have food :P).
Building a house in RL would be a big task,
because there would be to much dust and such.
And only thinking about walking or running in RL without my inhaler with me?
that isn't even possible. But with minecaft I dont have to think about using medicines.
You see how minecraft can make a asthmatic person happy?
We really enjoy this game, just like you "normal" people.
Food diseases / hay fever
Ever tried to punch a tree in reel life?
But you didn't get wood logs, only a bloody hand?
The people with a tree disease even got worse.
Their hand can start to bulge, and they can get a rash all over their body.
Also, ever tried to eat a apple, carrot, potato, cake, bread etc.
But got a weird feeling in your mouth?
Like itching or feelings like you can hardly breath?
You could have a kind of food allergie!
Yesh, it also happens that I am having this diseases.
I cant play in trees or eat an apple.
When I am playing games or outside and there is a high pollen level,
my nose gets runny and my eyes get wet and stuff.
It is hard to deal with sometimes, because people like me
always get reactions like:
"Are you crying again, little baby?"
"Don't want to eat an apple, because it is to healthy?"
But we can't do a thing about it. I am aware that there is medication
to help us survive with those diseases,
but if you forget to take it one day,
or you just dont have any,
it is annoying that people overreact that you are different.
But now you know more about the disease,
can you understand how nice it is for minecrafters to punch a tree,
get all the saplings and apples, make your own garden with it,
and still live?
Use your imagination to think that you're walking through your minecraft world,
and all you have are some apples?
You can't eat them because of your disease...
You will have to eat them, or you will die of hunger...
but when you eat them, there is a chance of dieing because the
apple "poisons" you.
Hard choice isn't it?
But we dont have to think about this while playing minecraft,
so it makes use happy.
This was it for now, I am currently suffering on hay fever, so I am not able to write any further...
pretty funny that it happens while I was writing about it :P
