Themes:

When it comes to thinking about theme, beginning directors usually have trouble getting ideas. First of establish a time for you movie to tack place in, medieval is an easy time to start at as you can shape the minecraft world around you easily, after go on to getting an idea for a back story, every good story has a back story it is where the story is born.

You can get ideas everywhere you can be at school or work, it can be anywhere, you could see something and think that would be really good for my movie. Upon seeing you inspiration carry a notepad and pen and jot down what you have seen, with you inspiration in mind you can evolve the whole movie around it.

Example: On a train you pass landmark like a castle you can start to imagine it being in medieval time what it was like. you can also add some element of the present or future day into it and have a medieval steampunk element.

Planning:

Now you have a theme you need to research. Researching isn't easy on this task you will need to be patient, it may take a long time to do but it pays of in the ending result. first of research your time period, once you have an understanding of what it is like in you time period you can begin sub research. You will need to research things like buildings, clothes, names ect.

When researching don't just depend on the computer check books, print things out, create mood boards. Once that is done you will be to get or make skins bringing me to my next section.

(depending on how we you want your work to turn out depends on you research. Don't do it in one day it could take week or months.)

Looks:

You don't what your movie to look like a game, you want the viewer to be emerged in the real life aspects of it, Thats why minecraft is a good platform to create a movie.

I suggest getting getting a HD texture pack 256x256 like LB photo realism, Make sure your TP sticks to your theme.
Get Mods that make the game more realistic. The water shader mod is excellent for the aspect of the game being reality, Also sound changing mods. For this it all comes down to researching.
Create a worlds and find good land generation to build on.

Recruiting:

When recruiting chose you word carefully, What you don't want is to leave any detail. Make sure you let them know your serious about doing it. what you want to really state out is that you have researched, Be specific about the role don't just say 'i need builders', say it in detail say what you need builders or actors for. Make an estimate of how much people you need, if you have real life friend ask them.

The main things you will need are

Builders (Experienced): for helping build the structures
Actors male/female: state voice or not (upon hiring them list them on your thread)
Artist: Get in contact with a HD texture pack maker for this you need experienced people
Backups/Extras: can fill in for all positions
(Don't ask for a server host, asking for a server host is not being committed. If you do make sure you can trust them and compensate them for doing it.)

Put together an application and don't be afraid to turn people down.

Handy tools to have, have a Skype account for your project have all of your contacts together, where possible get people with the same timezone.

Setting up:

Once you have recruited your builders get them on a server at the same time to build, your project will run a lot faster. Tell them not to stretch to far out in the land you can build your structures close together the viewer wouldn't know. When setting up build rigs for filming this can be done by altering the TP to have the glass invisible or dig holes. Always make sure you turn you bobbing off to a steady walk

A good server plugin to have it one which allows mobs to attack the camera man.

Mods & Plugins:

Like i have put in my other sections get some mod to add realism, also get zombe mod pack with this can fly and change your walkspeed.

Water shader mod~

Zombe mods~, fast updating, easy usage

Minaptics mod~ for Zooming

Sound dampening~ for realistic sounding.

GLSL Shaders~ outdated

MAtmos~ adds realistic sounds.

Recording and Editing:

For recording you will need recording software that records in HD and not a watermarked or free version. You will aslo need a computer that can handle recording with a HD texturepack.

For HD I suggest castasia has a 30 free trial:
http://www.techsmith...nload/camtasia/

For easiness and reliability Fraps:
http://www.fraps.com/download.php

If you can not afored these the use camstudio
it is not he best but it if free:

Thanks for reading i hope this helped you on you movie making.
