MINECRAFT: HACKING ACCUSATION
Hello! I am here today to talk of the issue that is accusing someone of hacking online.
About a week ago, I was playing minecraft, and was playing a mini-game based off of o The Hiddeno . In it, one player is the o Hiddeno , or o Ghosto , and the other players must try to catch him/her. I was playing, and was the archer class. I saw the o Hiddeno and fired at it. I hit it twice, then waited. I knew where it was going, so I shot again, finishing it. The player, (who will remain anonymous) accused me of hacking, and others in the match agreed. Soon enough, players started turning on me just because I did something good.
THE PROBLEM
The problem is, of course, that I was not hacking. Io ve never hacked in my life, and never will, ever, no matter how tempting it is. Unfortunately, some players get the idea in their heads that if someone online is doing really good, then they are automatically hacking, and should be banned. Some people go to such lengths as to report people that they think are hacking.
WRONG KICKING/BANNING
Months ago, I was playing a CTF match, with about a hundred people. Now, not to brag or be cocky, but since I had beed using a bow since I got minecraft, I was pretty good at using it. The CTF match had a rule, if you shoot someone that was 50 blocks away, it was instant-kill. Soon, I was on a 30 kill streak. One thing after another, and I was close to a hundred. Then, suddenly I was kicked from the match, and it said that I was kicked for five minutes. I was puzzled. Why would it kick me? I was just really good that day. If you have a public server of your own, only ban/kick someone if your absolutely sure of them hacking, or you may be called a o corrupt admino .
DOING GOOD? PEOPLE TURNING ON YOU? EXPLAIN.
Io ve found that a good way to convince people that you areno t hacking(if your not) is to explain to them how you did what you did. For example, as I said above, I was accused because I hit the Hidden when I couldno t see him. I explained to the group that I could tell where he was going because I hit him twice, then fired where he was going. Lucky shot? Not really, as I explained to someone who said o I doubt that was a lucky shot.o
Next time your accused of hacking, explain to the accusers, and tell them that you sincerely areno t hacking. Now, most people wono t simply believe your word, because, hackers can lie cano t they? Of course they can, but thats just the human compulsion. To not get in trouble.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU KNOW THAT SOMEONES HACKING
This is only for people that know that someone is definitely hacking. You could alert an official of the server, or report him if the server has a website. What you dono t want to do is say o How did you do that? You hack.o Dono t say that. NEVER say that. Why? Because it shows just how you dono t understand what happened. Explain how you couldno t do that, and ALWAYS think it could be a glitch. If someone hits someone just out of range, it might not be a reach hack. It might have just been a glitch, or even lag-- Io ve seen multiple people accuse me of hacking when all I did was run around and hit them. Lag is the downfall to all people, and often people accuse others of hacking when they lag, for it appears that they o magicallyo attacked everyone in the area.
If you think someone is hacking, just please do as I say, and always consider every angle. Remember, dono t jump to conclusions, and alway explain to others, instead of just raging at them for accusing you.
