A Mod backstory

 Prologue


The
energy core was finished, Our reactor primed, our weapons charged. The
portal opened at the touch of the all-seeing eye. We leapt in,
unprepared. My team of elite fighters were not prepared either. We
fought for ages, literally. The fight with the dragon raged on for
years, but to us, felt like minutes. We returned victorious, but the
heart was reborn before we left. It activated, sucking in our power, and
returning nothing but itself, weak, and uncharged. Our armor and
weapons where gone. The heart was brought back as a symbol of our
victory, but it did not go lightly with anyone. The heart was dangerous,
unstable. The flames withheld in it leapt out at the slightest rupture.
The heart soon became so unstable, the charge within it died. We could
no longer awaken the power of the draconium.


We locked it
deep inside a vault, inactive, only to open in hundreds of years later
to use it. The heart has drawn all power possible into it at its first
moment of freedom. Our mistake, not stopping it quickly. It unleashed
its power, drawing all charge from the draconium. This event, is what we
call the Great Awakening. All of the lab’s draconic items had become
useless and unpowered, but the heart created awakened items. These items
rendered useless to our kind.


The heart leaped through
several dimensions, until it rifted itself through into the end. It
imbued its power into a draconic core. The core leapt into a draconic
rock. The stone became carved with the symbol of a dragon on it. This
rock became known quickly as the resurrection stone, because the moment
the symbol was carved, it created a stone circle, and began a
self-controlled ritual. The ritual lead to the resurrection of the
beast. It came back strong and more powerful that before. We were
destroyed as a rift stretched the dragon straight though to our
dimension. Our race died that day, and we have learned to harness the
power of the Wyvern, and the Awakened heart. We plan to destroy the
beast, and become the dominant beings of the universe. It may sound bad,
but its best for everyone.


This story tells of a young
scientist, who is chosen to learn the Draconic Arts and fight the beast.
He writes as he goes through his journey to destroy the dragon. He
discovers many historic items in his journey.
