Hello Minecrafters MrZybez here with the Omegaverse Network

     You may remember my other PMC Blog “Lets Fight Back - A Defend PMC Blog” About how there are not enough REAL Minecraft server reviewers and most use PMC as a weapon to troll. In this blog I want to state “I’ve done it!” I have made REAL Minecraft server reviews and am doing a new one each week. I picked a server at random and without telling anyone and just playing the game created a review. Doing reviews is harder than people think it is. You need to use the product like any other person and stay objective and unbiased. To create a legitimate review you must not get special treatment and be able to see both the positives and the negatives of the server, which I am quite good at.

NOTE: I may use PMC as a tool to find the servers but I am in no way affiliated with PMC, Mojang, or any other Official parties. I am With the Omegaverse Network and am doing this according to my own free will and as a volunteer. I do not get paid for the reviews, I just enjoy making them.

     Now you may ask “Why is he doing this?” The answer is, because I got tired of there not being enough REAL reviewers. Most of the ones I’ve seen play on just one server and review that one or a few, maybe one to 3 servers. Also most reviews on YouTube I’ve seen are from the owners themselves doing it to get attention. I wanted to be a REAL reviewer and go in a really look at everything. Also to show that there are other servers out there, that are really good that just don’t get enough attention. So here is the first episode of the new series “Minecraft Server Reviews”

Aliquam Review
 
Aliquam is a creative server based in Europe. Off the starting line you can tell that the server it is not mostly English. There are two different areas of information, those who speak Polish and those who speak English. This is not a bad thing, in fact it’s a good idea, but it’s just a little disconcerting to English players. Most of the player base of Minecraft belongs to the USA, even though Minecraft if a Swedish game. In spawn there’s only one area that has English text, the rest of the server is in Polish, on all areas outside of the English zone, so good luck reading those hidden secrets.

At first glance the server spawn looks impressive, but as I started to explore I got more and more disappointed. The spawn world has this massive city and wonderful landscape, but as I got closer the better I could see. The spawn city is very unfinished with almost all builds 90% empty on the inside. To me, this feels lazy. I feel the server, being the creative haven it is, should have taken more care as to finish all its builds, inside and out. Many server owners, me included, won’t promote someone to builder if they don’t finish their builds. Having a spawn that is beautiful on the outside means nothing if it’s not beautiful on the inside as well.

I will say this now, that if I were to rate this as I normally would, it would score low, but this server is different. This server is not recommending for players, but more for server owners or staff to retreat to as a vacation spot. This server gives each player a world that is roughly 200 by 200 and basic world edit. Also with the ability to download and upload projects this place is truly a haven for builders, The key word being builders.

Players will not be well suited for this environment, as most players who play creative like to talk and communicate. This server doesn’t have much communication or cooperation at any level. While I was online there were around 1 to 15 players on all the time, but conversation was strand. Most builders don’t really like talking from my experience so to that extent this server does well, but players like to talk and show off what they’ve done. The server has a “Make world public” option but no good listing option to view those public worlds. Also even if you made the world public it’s not likely people would come willingly to look at your world.

As you play on the server you will begin to make money and rank through time and building. The higher the rank, the better the world edit privileges you will receive. At starting you get 10,000 blocks of world edit selection, which is not bad but not great ether. World edit is a super powerful plugin so it’s understandable to limit it this much for new players. As I messed with world edit in my own world, I noticed the lack of lag. I would copy, paste, replace air lava and even more so and the server didn’t even flitch. So to that end the server has great power behind it, so for that the server excels.

Once you have your world you can invite other players to your world however this hinders your ability to rank up. The server seems to punish players who like to build together by dividing the worlds EXP to the players in that world. This would make ranking up to get the new 20,000 block cap quite hard. This limit seems unnecessary and would further push new players away. Builders wouldn’t care about working alone as lots of them enjoy the peaceful solitude of building by themselves, so for that this server has it down.

This server has a lack of playability for players, but a wonderful haven for builders wanting to build in a safe creative environment so that leads the final verdict to an N/A a rating of Not Applicable.

If you’re an owner or staff member on a server who needs a break from the drama of a server, this server might be the paradise you’ve been looking for.
