It has been 25 years since the incident; and, here I am, standing on the edge of a crater in the middle of what was once a dense forest. In the bottom of the crater is a large ball of rubble, trees, and twisted metal. A strange cloud can be seen hovering around the ball and low rumble emanates from its heart. Many stories have been told about the day that this orb and divot were created. But, only one is the truth, and I know it.

My name is Nicholas Jefferson, my father was a member of the local police force the day his friend, Officer Jamison, died. My father told me the story that others have denied and covered up. Why did they do this? Because the story seemed unbelievable, yet, it was the only one that made sense.

As the story goes, there were a lot of mysterious deaths and disappearances in one night. Officer Jamison was put on the case and, the following morning, a man claiming to be from the secretive Abdera Corporation, who went by the name Mr. Jekyll, showed up with a small stack of papers in a briefcase. These papers somehow contained firsthand accounts of the first victims of an alien collective known as the Regnum Messoris, and Mr. Jekyll had Officer Jamison read every one of them. Shortly after reading the last one, they set out into these very woods, they were never seen again. Few hours after they entered the forest, the majority of it was replaced by the crater and sphere before me. According to my father, from what he read, Mr. Jekyll and Officer Jamison must have the old Abdera in the Myster Mentrti story and foiled the evil plot brewing in that facility.

As I stand here, on the edge of the crater, I can't help but feel like it didn't end here, and that somewhere those creatures were planning their return. And I have every intention to stop them no matter the cost.

Meanwhile, Professor Emerson was putting together his brand new invention, the crown jewel of his career at Abdera. In two weeks, the machine would be ready for testing. He had worked so hard to get to a point in the corporation where he could bring ideas to the table, and when he brought his designs for the machine to the roads of directors, they jumped on it like it was the best thing in the Multiverse. Within days, there was not only a room set aside for it; but, the Inanium necessary for the project had already been brought in from Sativan, a planet in another universe whose inhabitants had graciously allowed Abdera to use their vast sources of Inanium to make the massive rings for the ASTRRLAP Generators linking every Abdera facility in the Multiverse as well as for other research purposes.

He can't believe how fast it has gone up. Nor, that it has been 25 years since the incident at the old facility, and it's finally here, Mk. 2!
