If you mean pricey by the items used to create them, then your wrong. If the storage container is safe, it uses rarer items.

Well, what about the trashcan? you could easily just install one into the floor with some lava or cactus which is a lot cheaper and readily available than mossy cobble.

This is a mod... Not a lazy version. If you want to throw out items, but eventually need them for further use, then this stores them instead of destroying them.
