Introduction:
Hello PlanetMinecraft... I just thought I would make a blog about what the Subscription Button is used for by me, and many other people. Just thought I would clear some peoples mind on this matter.
What I think of it, and what I use it for:
I use the Subscription Button for many reasons. These reasons would be:
1. Getting updated messages regularly from users which I would like to see more from. If I liked a few of their submissions, and want to see more of them without searching through... I would hit the subscribe button and the next time they uploaded a submission (that I thought would be worth giving a diamond or looking at) I would be informed of it straight away, and it would be right there in 'My Subscription Activity'.
2. Giving people recognition for there creations and making sure they know that you would like to see more from them, and giving them motivation to proceed once they know someone has subscribed to them.
I think it a great tool which needs to be used in the correct and mature manner. I would say more about the negative side of it, but the next section shows what other people use it for, which can be both negative and positive.
What other people think of it, and what they use it for:
Other people (unlike me) use the subscription button for reasons that should not be counted for. Some of them are as followed:
1. They use the button to advertise themselves throughout the wide community and get themselves seen. Some people whom I won't name, subscribe to everyone they see so there profile name is in other peoples Subscribers Box. This gives them recognition from people who browse other users profiles, and gives them respect from the users they have subscribed to.
2. Use it to subscribe to their friends. Again, I will not mention names, but I have noticed many users who are 'up there', subscribe to friends or family who have joined PlanetMinecraft. I don't see anything wrong with this, but surely the user would subscribe, only to receive information about what they are doing. Again, that is not wrong, but arguable.
3. Staff subscribe to people they think are making an impact on the community, and what they would like to see more of. They also subscribe to other staff for helping out this website too. For example, Cyprezz has subscribed to many people over his large amount of time on this website, whom would be staff and people he thinks deserve 'the owners' approval.
Conclusion:
I barely ever subscribe to people anymore because I have subscribed to most of the people I would like to see more from, and be updated on what they are doing. The people I subscribe to are mostly my forte, which would be in the section of skinning. I have subscribed to those people, and am still searching for new users with talent, whom then I can subscribe to. This should be the same for everyone who has been on PlanetMinecraft for a large amount of time.
Thanks for listening, and hope you can take this in consideration next time you decide to hit that subscribe button.
Feel free to Diamond, Favourite, and Subscribe if you enjoy my work for more.
