Candace was still in her bed, stroking her soft blue hair gently to comfort herself. She gazed into the title of the game. Why does it seem so out-of-the-ordinary? Then, she felt something strange. It was like something was telling her to come to the computer. Curiosity got the best of her.

"I- I guess I'll play this game t- to take my mind off of this..." She slowly walked over to her computer. She sat down and stared into the screen. It showed the title, Minecraft, and some small flashing yellow text . It read o More Than Just A Gameo . She hit the single player button, and created a new world. The loading bar appeared, and the game was about to start.

For some reason, Candace started to feel sleepy. It was extraordinary. Just a few minutes ago, she was still hyper, but now, she was close to falling asleep. She tried to keep awake. She tried to focus on what was happening. The purple flash, the strange noise from Jino s phone, the calls from her mom. These were definitely not normal. Actually, it was paranormal. She doesno t even know why sheo s playing this game when she should be asking for help. She couldno t help it. She felt too tired. Her eyes begged her to let them fall. And when the loading bar was almost done, Candace fell asleep.

The last thing she saw before that, was a flash of purple.

A few moments later, she woke up. Something was wrong. She wasno t sitting on her chair anymore. She was sitting on grass. Grass. She was outside. But why? As her vision cleared up, she found herself in grassy plains, with mountains in the horizon.

It still seemed strange. Stranger than waking up in the middle of nowhere. She realized what was wrong.

o Why is this place so blocky? Waito ¦ Noo ¦ It cano to ¦ Ito s not possibleo ¦. Io m in the gameo ¦o o Is this part of the game? I have to call Jino ¦ No waito ¦ Toby. He was the first one to play, he should know the most about this.o

She reached for the phone in her pocket.

o What the? Whereo s my phone?o

She had nothing. Only herself. Now, she was afraid. She had no contact with the real world. Sheo s trapped. Trapped in a game she never even knew how to play. She sat down and cried. But then, she noticed something in the horizon. Beyond the mountains, was a square of bright orange. She figured out that it was the gameo s sun. But why was it orange?

o Noo ¦ The suno ¦ Ito s orangeo ¦ That meanso ¦o

The sky started to darken. It was sunset. In a few minutes, the world will be plunged into darkness. The darkness of Minecraft. Candace was told that she had to stay indoors at night, by she didno t know why. She stood there, afraid. She didno t move. Fear overwhelmed her. She made a lot of mistakes today, and this was the worst. Suddenly, she heard a sound behind her. She turned around, and saw a mysterious black being. It had a humanoid figure, and it seemed to be glowing.

As if the creature knew it was being watched, it swiftly turned around and made a loud eerie noise. Candace immediately recognized the noise. It was the noise from Jino s phone. Before she could scream, the black creature teleported in front of her, ready to attack.

She closed her eyes.
