Hello fellow members of PMC! :)
Today, I'm posting a different kind of blog, I'm talking about the most useless, unnecessary things that exist on minecraft. I'm going to try and list as many as I can, and also explain why they are just, plain, unneeded.

1. Lapis Lazuli

Okay, if you are working on a project on survival and you need blue wool then this may be useful at times. But most of the time its just plain stupid. You can't craft armour, weapons, not even tools. The only thing you can make with it is dye for wool, and the lapis lazuli block.
I think lapis is only good for building in creative, in survival I think its just completely unnecessary.

2. Sponge

What... in the world... is the point of sponge? It doesn't even absorb water anymore! It's impossible to obtain in survival legitimately. It's alright if your building a sponge bob but, seriously! It has no point! I haven't used it ever in my whole career of minecraft.

3. Diamond Hoe

Who the hell on earth would waste 2 precious diamonds, on something completely, utterly, stupid. You would be better of making multiple wood or stone hoes, but why waste diamonds on this? One day you will say to yourself; 'Ahh, I need 2 more diamonds'. So yeah guys, don't waste diamonds on that.

4. Dragon Egg

Spending your whole minecraft lifetime working up to this day, exploring mineshafts, mining diamonds, and every other thing you could imagine. But once you kill the ender dragon a portal back to the overworld spawns, with an egg on top. Every time you punch the damn thing it teleports, probably saying; "oh HELL no! You can only break me with a piston". But why do you need a piston to break it?
*teleports to end world* "oh crap my piston...."
Well, that won't fustrate you too much, because it doesn't do anything! Why cant it hatch into a tiny baby ender dragon and watch it grow :D Its just plain stupid.

5. Dirt/Grass

Its a very, very, VERY common block, with over 4000000000000 dirt blocks in a minecraft world, but. I'm not saying that it is not needed, I'm just saying it has no use. No point making a house with it (eww), and you cant craft anything at all with it. Perhaps it should have some more uses? This isn't that useless, It is good for farming and growing crops for food.

6. Soul Sand

This is the most annoying block in my opinion, its glitchy in multiplayer, and I hate it when people make maps with it. It just slows you down and its frustrating. You can not craft anything with it, it just sits there in the nether awaiting to annoy its victims. You can use it to make nether wart farms though/

7. Beacon

Really good for epic builds and stuff, but no-one wants to collect all that emerald, diamond, or/and iron just so they can get a small few perks when close to it. It is stupid I think in terms of survival. I don't want to spend 10 minecraft days finding 200+ diamonds for a small pyramid so I can get jump boost II and strength when at my house. Seriously?
Not to mention its good for certain areas in certain maps. But vanilla survival.... Come on.....

8. Monster Spawner Block

Uhh, that moment you build something with monster egg accidently, and you make a mistake. So irritating. All the little silver fish making that irritating hiss sound as they sliver around annoyingly. Whats the point in them? Maybe for a prank, or a stronghold. But.... Please! What the hell!
