Features
I won't lie, Minecraft has a LOT of features to offer. From building and destroying to building self constructing bridges, all the way to fully automatic turrets. But it does have the potential for more. Cars will and should stay in the reach of mods, not the vanilla game, guns should be in the game, but rare, like the chain armor that you'll generally find after crafting diamond armor, enchanting it, and building a house out of lava rendering it useless. Which is another thing, you can't create the chain armor still... Come on, we could add a chain link fence that you can craft into the chain armor. Anyway, there's also the combat. Minecraft never was supposed to be realistic, why would they add the cooldown feature? The only exception to this is the bow which is completely random because it takes longer to pull out an arrow and put it on the string than to swing your sword and bring it back to swinging position.
Crafting
Here's something I don't get, why is it that the mobile and console versions show the crafting recipes and have an automatic crafting system? The PC version doesn't have either of them! When you want to craft something, you have to either Google the recipe or know the recipes by heart. And if they change the crafting items and positions for something, you have to Google it. I suppose most of them are based on logic, but why not do something like Survival Craft where there's an in-game "recipedia" where you can look something up, and it will tell you its stats, what to mine it with, how to craft it, and where to find it? I don't know what Mojang's thinking sometimes...
Redstone
So to this day, redstone is still not all that powerful. Don't get me wrong, but it does have its usage, such as building an auto-constructing bridge, but you can't really do much outside of that. Other than that and a turret
