Hello Fellow Members of PMC :)
Today I'm going to be talking about potions. I am going to be discussing to you about some new potions that should be implemented into the game. These are based completely on my opinion, so don't spazz out on me if you disagree with one of my ideas.
So, these potions that I will shortly talk about I think should be added into the game itself, and not a mod. Also potions that would have a positive effect towards the game.
Lets get started...
FLYING POTION:
This one has been talked about for some time now, and I believe really should be added to the game. Depending on the time of the potion effect, the time the player has the ability to fly around on survival gamemode. The player can not receive fall damage. If you are in mid-air when the potion runs out, you will fall down and die if high enough. So be careful!
FORCEFIELD POTION:
I would love this potion, what it would do is anything that gets within a range of 5 blocks of your player, it will be thrown back. This effects mobs, players on multiplayer. If a wolf is tamed by yourself, it will not be effected by the forcefield. Nor will an ocelot, neither a horse. (IF TAMED)
INVISIBILITY II POTION:
Now, this is basically the invisibility potion, but enhanced. With the causal invisibility potion in the game today, your player is invisible to its surroundings. But all armour you wear, items you hold, are visible. Along with the sprinting and potion effect particles if you are sprinting. With the enhanced potion, visa versa to the above. Armour, items are completely invisible. So are the particle effects. So you are COMPLETELY legitimately invisible.
HUNGER (II) POTION:
Apparently this is a real potion, not 100 percent sure, but it is not able to be legitimately obtained in the game. I don't see any use of it being a drinkable potion, perhaps you need it to do a specific thing or something. But this will make good use in multiplayer. The player will receive the same hunger effect that you receive when you eat rotten flesh or raw chicken. The Hunger 2 effect is the same, just a quicker decrease of hunger bars.
INVINCIBILITY POTION:
Player who drinks the potion is invincible to all situations, whether it be fall damage, creeper explosion, lava, drowning, the list would go on for days. It stops any possible way of damage coming through, even the void. This would be a very overpowered potion, so the crafting recipe would need materials hard to obtain.
X-RAY POTION:
When this potion is inhaled, the player can see ores clearly through blocks. Unlike the x-ray mod, blocks that are to be invisible so ores can be seen, are less opaque, as well as more transparent. Good for mining, and finding diamonds or other needed ores. Pretty self-explanitory.

Invincibility is simply Resistance V.
Hunger II is obtained with commands.
Invisibility 2 is too cheap, invisibility was made this way to be balanced (so that people in full diamond would at least be able to kill them before they get killed by a harming potion spamming invis guy)
X-ray and flying would ruin the plugins on servers that detect for Flymod or Xray mod, and would have the effect of making "hacking" legitimate.
Flying potion- Could be abused in regular survival (especially multiplayer), however this could be a good effect which is only obtainable by admin commands like the jump boost potions, so it could be used in things like minigames.
Forcefield- Pretty much the same explanation from the flying potion. Perhaps, though, it could have random side effects? Some could be harmful, some good, or maybe some just plain annoying like jump boost (V).
Invisibility- Again, same explanation like the above. Maybe side effects for that, too.
Hunger (II)- Already obtainable by commands. A splash potion would be cool...
Invincibility - Now that's just... no... Also, you could just have Resistance 100... but never should anyone have any reason to add this into the game... even for minigames, they are covered with the resistance thing.
X Ray- A hacker's dream. Nobody likes hackers. Therefore, nobody likes X Ray. I'm not accusing you to have terrible ideas, but you're probably a hacker to think about it in this perspective. No offence.
Well, yep, I have had similiar opinions to a lot of other comments. However, I DO have some ideas of my own, which would be cool if you could feed back on it.-----------------------------------
Shrink potion: Not overpowered at all, I'd say. Very useful too! Shrinks you down to 1 block height, and I don't think there have been much plugins or alternative ways to achieve this too (unless you downloaded a mod). You could have plenty of fun with this. Would be very useful on brand new minigame ideas too!
Senses potion: Very cool. Again, a lot of opportunities for minigames. Basically, what this could do, is for a brief second, you could see mobs/players outlines in red if you were looking through a wall. To stop this from becoming overpowered, you have to wait a certain amount of time for this brief show of mobs/players positions through only their outlines. Perhaps if the potion was a higher number, the outlines would show for longer (e.g: 2 seconds instead of one)
Magnet potion: Will attract any items on the floor towards the player in an increased radius, the higher the potion effect number, the higher the radius for the magnet effect. If more than one player with a magnet effect is within the item's attract radius, the item will remain stationary.

7-10 seconds I think would be good.
The forcefield potion is way to overpowered, I would say it should only have a 2 block radius
Invisibility II potion is a good idea, but it should be very VERY expensive to make, considering what you could do with it. Maybe add a diamond or eye of ender to a normal invisibility?
Hunger potions of any type would be great as splash potions.
Great way to slow someone down, especially if its a powerful potion.
Invincibility would be ok, but only if it had a 5-7 second last time. This would also have to be banned on most pvp servers, just because it's to much.
X-ray potion: No. This one takes all legitimacy away from minecraft, and I had to stretch the others a lot anyway.
