PROBLEM WITH TOOMANYITEMS :(

Well, me and my friend are building a city on a server, when randomly for some reason, when I went into the mod ''toomanyitems' my whole computer screen went black for a split second? then just my minecraft screen? i couldn't close the minecraft application? then it says some driver had stopped working and recovered. then it said Java SE Binary has stopped responding. So, after all that I deleted my minecraft folder and started it again. then I put 'toomanyitems' back in, signed back into his server. I was fine for about ten minutes? then imported a item from the mod and the same thing happened! so, now I haven't got it installed at the moment. but, it is a extremely helpful mod and it would be even more helpful if someone could help me troubleshoot this!
