After trawling through the recipe-mod infested front page of the mods section (all of which are already against the rules), I noticed a mod that added new items to the game (I won't name it) but in the description of the mod it said that the mod had been generated by a mod generating program, now everyone has seen mods like this, but what I found surprising was that the uploader wasn't even sure if the mod required modloader or not!
For personal use, mods like this are fine, but I think the mod section of PMC deserves better standards than generated mods. Its like the programs that generate pixel art. At the moment there is no specific rule against these mods that were generated without the requirement of altering code. I think, that like recipe mods these generated mods should be against the rules. Unfortunately it will be almost impossible to catch generated mods (unless the author posts a link to the one he used), for this reason, I think it may be reasonable to say that any mods that only add a new block or items or armour should be removed, other than special cases where genuine effort and thought has been put into the construction of the mod.
In short, I think that mods which only add blocks, items or armour should be against the rules for mod submissions, in order to prevent the use of mod generators and the mod pages being full of useless mods.
