Kill all 'dem mobs with ease!

Gear:
Bows: Have a constant arrow drop rate, getting used to it and knowing this will soon make you Rambo. Criticals are easy: just fully charge your shot and hit your target.
Swords: Block all skeleton arrows if you cannot dodge. Blocking makes you take 1/2 the damage of a normal hit. Scoring a hit while in the air (falling downward at any rate- even if in a cobweb) causes a critical.
Armor: Iron is best until you have enough for enchanted diamond. Wearing iron makes you a tank, while diamond's damage rate simply isn't worth it until you can get it with decent enchants. When newly spawning, finding a herd of cows is very good, as this means early armor AND food.
Potions: These can be game-changers, conserve them. Undead mobs will take damage from splash healing, and will heal with splash damage. This makes healing potions VERY effective while fighting zombie pigmen. Spiders are not considered undead, although they are viewed as pestilent in real life. Endermen and creepers are also living.
NOTE: Regeneration and poison potions have no effects on undead mobs. They will act normally on the living.
NOTE: Invisibility potions only work without armor equipped, but a spider can see you no matter what.

Stats:
Health: Health regen stops when the food bar is below 16 (8 drumsticks).
When your bar drops below 1/2, play very conservative.
Armor: Crucial. If you have no armor, UR GONNA HAVE A BAD TIME.
Food: As said in Health, keep it above 16. Mushroom stew is the best food, but it doesn't stack.

Mobs:
Simple, apply the given knowledge to dominate in PvE.
Couple of notes, however:
-Blazes: light you on fire, using potions of fire resistance is recommended. Also, take them out with a NON-fire aspect bow.
-Ghasts: same as blazes, but their fireballs can be knocked back to where you point with either a stick or sword. Their hitboxes are deceiving, aim for the tentacles.
-Endermen: Don't mess with them until you are geared with full iron, or are confident you can kill one. These guys are neutral mobs, you can pull them by looking at them for too long or a traditional sword slice. They have a lot of health and teleport all over the place. keep a close eye on them (while in combat, of course).
Ender DRAGON: Use an infinity bow to destroy all of the ender crystals (the animated things on the towers), avoid looking at the endermen, and then chip away his health. Stay close to the center of the island, he knocks you FAR distances. If you do this, the fight will no longer be hard as long as you have full iron armor and an enchanted diamond sword and infinity bow. You can also bring water buckets for him to hurt himself on. This said, you may also want to build snow golems to throw snowballs at enemies (snowballs deal damage to the dragon), just be warned that they will be taken out fast by the dragon
NEW MOBS:
Witch: Milk some cows before taking one on. They will poison you, negating weak regeneration and dealing damage to you. Be wary of their ability to heal themselves, and that they will throw splash damage at almost any distance that a throw can allow. It is most effective to use an enchanted bow, but a high damage sword will also work. Be wary that armor will not help you with a witch.
Baby zombies: Fast little buggers. Take them out before they see you, or use some splash healing to have a definite upper hand.
Bats: Lol srsly?
Wither Boss: It isn't very smart to build this guy, but if you do, be VERY prepared. Bring all your healing/regen pots (not to mention real good armor) and build him. He is invincible when spawning, so distance yourself before he makes a crater when he reaches full health. Phase 1: Use a bow to chip away at his health while dodging his fired skulls. They will come fast and of high damage, but they can be avoided. Do this until his health is at 1/2. Phase 2: Once hitting 1/2 health, he will get the visual effect of a charged creeper. This means he is invulnerable to ranged attacks. Use a fishing rod to pull him close, and go absolutely ham with your best sword. This phase will cause quite a bit of damage to you, so use your potions whenever you feel necessary. Killing him will make a small explosion and a massive exp shower. Congrats, go build your beloved beacon.

-Hope this helped!

Nicely put. I can use this.
Quick question though: I thought health regeneration stopped below 9 drumsticks?

Nope, health regen stops below 8, supported by the wiki, and tested myself. I should add that if your food drops below 3 full drumsticks, you can't sprint any longer.

Only if you like it: I feel weird when someone does that just because he likes 1 or 2 posts of mine or I subbed to him. :p
