Rage - Why bother?
Rage - What is it?
We've all experienced somebody who's just plain pissed off. People can unleash their rage for many reasons, but the main reason people get angry is because somebody offended them, hurt them, or they are simply jealous.
Signs to watch for
When somebody is REALLY mad, often times they will try to attack you. This means that either you did something to them that hurt them, or they simply need somebody to rage at.
Do's and Don't's
Do: Respect them and treat them as you would anyone else
Don't: Show anger back at them, tell them to calm down, or say that they are simply "attention seekers".
Questions to ask yourself before you rage:
How will this help me?
Where will this get me?
Will the people around me appreciate it?
Is there an easier way to communicate your feelings to people?
If I'm this mad and I hate these people, why am I even bothering to hurt them back?
Why am I so mad?
Who do I really want to confront?
Why bother?
A tip that may help you whether you like it or not:
Before you go on a rant, find out if there is an easier way to confront the person who hurt/offended you. If there is, try using this (Warning: Very cheesy) formula:
I feel ..... When you ..... Because .... I need you to .....
Example:
I feel angry and sad when you harass me and cuss at me because it is extremely rude. I need you to stop harassing me and either leave me alone or be more polite.
