The girl before Jason rocked back and forth with her hands behind her back, she was looking at the sky and did not seem to be paying attention, Jason looked behind him as he heard another noise and saw Lilly running over.

"Emily I was wondering where you had gone and you know to pay attention when in public." Lily said to the red haired girl, Lilly had a gentle face, brown eyes and shoulder length brown hair. She wore a white vest top, jeans shorts and a pair of trainers. Emily the red haired girl hung her head and apologised to Jason again and to Lilly, she then noticed Marie and quickly announced she was a Humepet before bouncing over to her, Marie was a little startled by this hyper brightly coloured bird girl but did not seem to mind her.

"Sorry about Emily, she's a parrot girl so likes to know everything and is a bit hyper unfortunately." Lilly told Jason, Jason laughed and smiled to her, he told Lilly is was no problem and that he did not know she owned a Humepet. Lilly laughed now and said she had received one from her grandparents a year ago, she went on about how Emily instantly became a friend and a handful as she often ran off to explore and her mind consistently wandered. Jason and Lilly finished talking and got back into the football game, the match continued for a few hours before people started leaving and eventually only Jason, Marie, Emily and Lilly remained. Jason sat on a bench beside Lilly, he could see Marie and Emily from where they sat and noticed that Marie appeared to be sleeping while Emily explored the tree she was under.

"The sky is clear." Lilly said.
"So it is."
"I find the clouds beautiful."
Jason and Lilly just watched the clouds, he had met Lilly when he was young. She was a shy girl and he slowly became good friends with her and as the years went by the stayed very close and now Jason was sure he had fallen for her, he gulped and moved slightly closer, Lilly turned to face him and smiled. Jason went to say something when Marie's head suddenly popped in between them.

"Hallo." She said in her dozy tone, Lilly welcomed Marie and asked her what she wanted, Marie looked at Jason and held up her lead.

"I know Jason says I have to wear this but I know the actual reason...... it's because he likes bondage and he wants to show how ughh." Marie was cut off by Jason grabbing her lead and pulling her away, he apologised to Lilly and walked off heading home. Jason and Marie walked in silence, when they got to his house Jason proceeded up-stairs and Marie followed, he said nothing as he sat down in his chair and Marie unclipped her lead and sat cross legged on the floor in front of Jason. Silence filled the room for some time before Jason spoke, he asked Marie how she could say what she did to Lilly, Marie thought for a second before replying that she was just making conversation and did not really mean it. Jason argued with her before saying that she wouldn't care no matter what, he then went and flipped the lights off before sitting back down in his chair to sleep, Marie was still sat on the floor and she watched Jason drift into sleep, only when she was certain he was asleep did she let her head fall. Marie stood up and walked to the window, through it she could see the city and if she tried she could see the forest on the outskirts.

"I'm sorry Jason, I'll make it up to you." Marie whispered.


A beam of sunlight shone into Jason's face, he blinked and looked round. He could not see Marie and did not really care, he dressed and went to have breakfast. During it he still did not see Marie, he asked if anyone had seen her and Melody replied that she had seen her outside with a basket, Jason shrugged when she asked what Marie was doing and went back to his room to do some left over school work. The day passed and later on there was a knock on Jason's door.

"Hey Jason thanks for doing the chores." His mother said,
"No problem mum." He replied.

Jason had completely forgotten his chores for the day and was a little confused as to who had done them, he decided to find out later and went to get his washing from the laundry room, when he opened the door he was greeted by a peculiar sight, from the doorway he could see a tail poking out from behind the washing machine, as he walked towards it so he could fully see Jason saw Marie curled up on top of his washing pile and she must have been there for a while as she had pushed the clothes to the bottom and was inside of the basket, he crouched next to her and smiled.


Marie's ears flicked in her sleep and she curled up even more, Jason smiled to himself as he watched her ears and tail flick every now and then. He wondered what she was dreaming about but he then remembered the matter at hand, Jason needed his washing but Marie was curled into a small ball in the basket and he had to move her, Jason stood up and carefully moved around to not wake Marie. He tried to think of how to pick her up but the only reasonable way to do so would put him in a compromising position should she wake up or if someone should enter the room, Jason sighed and went to put his arms around Marie. He carefully pulled her into a sitting position and then crouched to put his left arm under legs to pick her up, Marie's head rolled as Jason shifted her into a suitable way for him to carry her. Jason smiled at the calm expression that was on her face and for some reason he found himself missing the dozy quite annoying Marie that had been with him yesterday,

"You can't sleep in here, looks like I'll sneak you upstairs." He quietly said as he walked towards the door and headed for his room.

Marie had been partly awake when she heard someone enter the laundry room, she opened one eye just enough to be able to see who was there and when she saw that it was Jason she dared not move, Marie watched as he smiled at her and in her half asleep, half awake mode she knew why. Her ears and tail were still flicking from her dream and when he picked her up she had to make sure she did not move nor blush at his act, after he had laid her down on his bed and Jason had left the room did she sit up. Marie smiled to herself and pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged them, she stayed like that until she heard Jason coming back upstairs and she lay back down to see what he would say or do next if he thought her still asleep.

Marie heard Jason enter the room and set what she assumed was the washing basket she had been asleep in down, she listened to him wander around and Jason eventually sat down on the bed next to her and started typing on his laptop. Marie lay still acting as if she was asleep, she was slowly drifting back into full sleep and began moving to make herself more comfortable. As Marie was shifting around she felt a movement and felt something being pulled over her, she shifted a bit more and realised it was the quilt of the bed. Marie smiled and finally settled to sleep.

Jason sat on a chair next to his bed and smiled at Marie, he thought for a second before clicking his laptop a few times and typing something. It was into a secure folder he had made for a sort of diary that was very well hidden, he entered a new document entitled Marie. After finishing his entry he closed the lid and set his laptop down and turned to Marie, he brushed a strand of hair off her face and then wandered to the window.

"What shall happen now?" He asked himself.

"Monday, this will be interesting to see what happens when Marie is on her own." Jason thought as he dressed in his uniform, he went about his usual morning routine but before he grabbed his bag to leave he turned and wrote a quick note for Marie. He then began his walk to school for his usual weekdays.

Marie was having a dream about running around a field, which was strange for her as she never ran unless needed. In her dream she ended up tripping and rolling down a hill, she kept rolling until she fell and hit a floor. Marie blinked a few times and realised she was now laying on the floor of Jason's room wrapped in the quilt he had covered her with last night, she flicked her ears a couple times and then stood up and made the bed. After looking around the room and then the house she found out she was alone, Marie went back to Jason's room and sat cross legged on his desk chair and span around for a minute before she spied his note.

Marie although you should know this I am at school all week as is Melody and my mother and father work so you will be on your own. I hope you are ok with this and I am sorry you have to be on your own for the day and I'm sorry for yelling at you for the park, it's who you are to say things like that I think. Jason.

She smiled at his note and tilted her head back to stare at the ceiling, minutes passed before she jumped off the chair and decided on what she would do all day.
