Planet Minecraft is, for all intensive purposes, a wonderful site. It provides people with a one-stop-shop for most of their minecraft-related needs. Take, for instance, the blogs. There our many, many blogs on this website. Some are minecraft-related, while others are not, and each category has its fair share of good blogs. However, these blogs seem to be getting rarer and rarer as ridiculously short, completely idiotic, absolutely horrible blogs appear.
These blogs often serve no other purpose than to take up space in the hopes of leveling the author up. Their body is made up of five sentences at most, and each one has horrific grammar. The "subject", if you could call it that, is only there to attempt to mask the author's want for xp. To make matters worse, their last sentence is usually along the lines of "like & subscribe!!1!lol1!" What the eff is this?! Seriously guys, leave that crap on YouTube. It doesn't need to be here and nobody wants to see it.
TL;DR: Short, self-promoting blogs that are only there to give the author xp are useless and idiotic. They don't help anyone, and in most cases make people mad.
This is just my personal opinion. What do you think?

Have something to say?
PS: The kiwi is adowable :3
On top of that, grammar shouldn't even matter half of the time. If the person has a point to make, and can't in a supposed "better" way, so be it. It's part of their freedom to be able to post freely, as this is the point of a community.
Finally, self-promoting blogs have their uses! It's in a similar fashion to commercials on TV or ads on the internet. If they never advertised, they'd never get attention. This is the thing that really irritates me about blogs like these: it seems to me that the message they always put out is "Don't let these *stupid* people post, only the *smart* people can". If we had it that way, this wouldn't be much of a free-blog posting community.
If you read some of the comments, you would realize that while I find bad grammar annoying, it doesn't matter if the blog has a good purpose. However there is no reason not to put capitals and punctuation, nor is there any reason to unnecessarily overuse them.
Yes, I do agree that self-promoting blogs have their uses. If what you are promoting had time and effort put into it, then self-promotion is fine. Promoting creations that didn't have time and effort put into them, however, is simply wrong, and it shouldn't be done.
As for what you thought this rant was about, I'm sorry that you feel that way. I didn't intend to spread that message, and I'm deeply sorry that it gave it off.
It's a largley debated topic about "useless" blogs that slap down "good" blogs, but it also brings up an interesting thought. For some odd reason, humanity favors looking at the bad. If theres two lists, one of expected conducts and one of poor, looked down upon conducts, the majority of those who see these two lists will read the bad list first and keep in mind what NOT to do more than what is expected. Going back to the blogs, if they contain "Rant" such as this blog, people get curious at the furiosity being spoken. This is a reason why "good" blogs get slapped down, aswell. It may not deter the views of the "good" blog wholly, but it will slow them down (I'm not calling this a bad blog).
Well, as you said, existing only for the purpose of leveling the author up is stupid. Then we have blogs that were posted for a purpose (though it's usually a ridiculous one), but there was no effort put into them and they're as bad the blogs that exist to level the author up.
Blogs with bad grammar annoy me, but if they have an actual purpose, then I'll let that little detail slip.
