I think PMC needs a Rate a Server feature. A way to see if a server is good or not. Diamonds don't mean it's a good server, it means people gave it a diamond. There should be a "post a review" in the comments where it gives you a blank form to fill out like:

Creativity:
(insert opinions of the creative aspect)

Players:
(say if players are friendly/mean and discuss the kinds of people you see on the server)

Fairness:
(Jot down a few things you may find unfair or fair)

Staff:
(Write down the problems you have with staff or if they're good, write how good they are)

Final notes:
(Make some notes that did't fit the previous criteria)

Summary:
(Give a small/big speech about whether one should join or not)

Yes, this may get abused by some servers, but if this feature is put into place it may start a new trend. Players who go around and review servers. When a player posts a lot of accurate good reviews, people may recognize the name if they see a review and know that the reviw is just. I really hope to see this feature come to PMC. It would save a lot of time picking servers if you could just read reviews rather than just join a bunch and find out they suck after getting settled

I think the parameters you have suggested are very valid and would definitely help people rate the servers up to their true capabilities. The thorough review would help a great deal and will help prevent the cost spend on unnecessary trials of servers. To know how outlook processes the user data at its server you can visit Outlook customer support

Or... you know... just leave a comment saying that the server is bad or good...

The problem with that is that I never see people doing that unless it's a server with 100+ people and it just gets drown out in other random comments. If people see a feature to write a review, they may be more inclined to write one

The main question is, why would they be more inclined to write one?

Some people like to inform other people of things. I certainly do. If I see a problem on a server, I write it down in the comments to warn people away. If I saw helpful comments like that on server pages, it'd make it easier to find a good server to settle down on rather than jump on a bunch of random servers, spend hours on them, and then find out they're bad. The idea would be to inform others so they could in turn inform others themselves. Also, having it being a feature would most likely increase the amount of people who review servers JUST because there's a new feature to do it

Ya, I see your point. Maybe if they added this feature, advertised it a bit on the homepage, and spread the word about it, people would use it often.  However, the popularity of this new feature would go down and down, until we're back to just diamonding things.  Also, if people really want to get the word out that a server is bad or good, then right now they could just write a comment.  Like you said, you like to inform people about things, so you write in the comments.  The only people who would be using this system in the end would be the people who enjoy to telling people about things, but they could do that without a new rating program.

While I agree that some of those ideas are reasonable, there are a number of them that aren't. Most are subject to irrational emotion. For instance, people that get butthurt when they're banned, even if it was for good reason. They can then write a horrid and unfair review.

The plus to the current system, is that it boils down to one thing. Like or dislike. If you like it, diamond it. If you don't, move on to another server. If you truly support the server, vote for it. No false negatives.

The problem I have is finding a server to settle down in. I just got settled into a server where a mod used his mod powers to teleport to me, spawn a bunch of witches, and then steal all my stuff. If there were reviews, poeple could be given a heads up on what to expect. Yes, there would be emotional people bashing them, but there would also be people who would use it correctly

I see where you're coming from. Perhaps, rather than giving people too many words to work with, there's ratings displayed in the server description? Ratings that the owners cannot touch, or alter.

Players already have the power to write their review in the comments, but the community usualy makes the choice to say something like "gud servr" or "hate u" instead.

It'd just be plain stupid to have the reviews be edited by the owners. that'd be causing more trouble. I imagine there would be a level requirement for a review to be posted. Maybe add incentive for the player to review a sever like a badge or something
