Hello internet! Welcome to the Redstone Contraptions Blog! In this blog, I will be going through the step-by-step processes of building some pretty cool redstone circuitry and devices. My work is not copyrighted in any way, so feel free to use it as you will, provided that you include my name as credit.
CONTRAPTION #01: The Hopper Rapid-Pulse
This is a very useful and simple device which I use all the time in bigger contraptions. It is very useful to know how to build because it can pulse redstone circuitry with almost no lag at all!
The Necessary ingredients are:
2 Hoppers
1 Redstone Comparator
1 of any block (I use dirt, or anything you can break by hand)
Step 1:
Place the block anywhere
Step 2:
Place one of the hoppers facing toward the block
Step 3:
Break the block and place the other hopper facing the first one.
Step 4:
Place the comparator facing away from the two hoppers.
Step 5:
Place the block (or any useless item) in one of the hoppers.
Done! The device will now emit a medium-fast pulse. This setup can be used for any circuit that needs a pulse, but it is especially useful for lamps, command blocks, and dispensers.
Bear in mind that the comparator emits a very weak signal. For larger contraptions, place a redstone repeater immediately after the comparator.
Enjoy!
