Welcome to the tutorial! This tutorial will teach you how to render your minecraft skin, as well as adding a nice drop shadow. This can then be cropped to 100x100 pixels to give you a nice avatar in a similar style to mine. So let's get started.
Just to keep things organized, I'll be numbering the steps.
1. First step, head on over to this forum page.

2. Once there, download the "Minecraft Skin Viewer". The page provided will have info on setting up the program, so I won't get into that here.

3. Once you have it open, open your skin and pose it to your liking. Then make sure the background is transparent, and right-click to save it as an image. (Make sure perspective is clicked! )

4. Almost done. Firstly open the .png image in GIMP. Once you've done that, click the filter tab, then hit light and shadow, and finally drop shadow. There are some little tabs and values you can mess with, but honestly I've not noticed a huge difference. Though once your happy, click OK and save the image.

5. Finally if you want to use the head of your avatar just crop it down to 100x100!
If you like this blog please diamond, if you want more please subscribe, favourite if you loved it, and comment if whatever.
Hope you enjoyed the tut, more skins to come.

I never uploaded it because I didn't think it was well, good enough. I might re-do it later.
