So basically I decided to make this article or tut just to give people that different view of how to get ranks on servers.
This is NOT the only ways it can be done but it is great to start somewhere!
Throughout I will basically go through some things that could or should be done to earn ranks!
Lets start!
1. ALWAYS read the server rules! Owners like it when you correct wrongs (even correcting yourself)
2. If you do something wrong make sure you say sorry.
3. Advertising is a great way to get owners to trust you. This can be done many ways but it is best not to spam on other servers as this just gives the server a bad reputation.
4. Making a website for the owner IF there isnt one already. Forums and such should be updated after creation. (check free forums in google)
5. Again, advertising.. Youtube is a great place for this! especially if you have lots of subscribers :)
6. Don't ask for ranks, try to ease into the subject without any direct "can I be op/admin".
7. Be on when the owner is on ;)
8. Give other players free stuff like money or items.
9. Make large or complex builds.
10. Offer your help to the owner.. multiple times even!
11. Welcome ALL newcomers to the server.
12. Make friends with staff, it will also help with getting ranks!
13. As said rushing a rank will get you nowhere. Even if it does get you a rank, there won't be trust.
14. Post a formal application for mod/admin via server forums or email!
15. Try not to be a big griefer or raider as this can put off some owners.
16. Look out for the owners interests and try to use them to your advantage.
17. Finally, to sum it all up - be DEDICATED!
