Although I'm not a pro-skinner, I would like to share my experiences, and I think my experiences can help those who is a new-skinner 😁
I'll introduce to you: How to get an idea, and how to make a skin simply. I just made a skin recently, I'll take it as an example. → here ←――――――――――――――――――
There's also some tips/descriptions under the skin I made. ︱

First: Get an idea!
First of all, you should decide what kind of work you're going to make, a player skin, a mob skin or a texture?
And what topic you're going to concentrate on. You may get some ideas from your life, your mood, from nature, form whatever you like, or just go to PMC Jams look for what's on-trend now. Both of them are important, make sure figuring out them before you creating!

Then: Hold your pen and begin!
After having an idea of what to create, Don't hesitate, just begin to draw!
I truly recommend PMCSkin3D. It's really simple but powerful, and it's friendly to a starter!
↓ PMCSkin3D's UI

Let me introduce some of the functions to you.
Pixel Brush: You can choose your pen brush here.
Draw Mode:
If you want to erase/pick color/..., it may be done here.
Opacity: Doing some opacity changing can make you work look more realistic.
Visible Part: Minecraft things are composed of boxes, appear/hide the boxes here.
Foreground Color: You choose your color here, and it's also where you entering color code.
Body & Armor: If your making a player skin, There are two layers: Body layer and Armor layer. You can do many changes between these two layers, and make your character looks much better.

And I really like to use a website, too.
If you want to know a current color on a picture, visit https://imagecolorpicker.com/.
Find the color you want, and copy the color code!

*Some Tips
Picking color: To make your work impressing, remember to use the right color! Bright, worm colors make it looks positive, lovely and out-going. On the other hand, Dark, cool colors make it look cool, mysterious and maybe depressed.
Color using: You may use a variety of colors to make your work less boring! A lot of same color looks somehow strange. ↓ For example, There're many kind of color green.

Shading: Many beginner may thought hard of this (so am I). In my opinion, remember to darken the color under your character's hat/hair/clothes/anything else. And also do the color gradient from the top to below.

Last: Show your work to the public!
Now you've finished your great work and it's ready to be demonstrate to everyone!
If you're using PMCSkin3D, Just press the "Public on PMC" button on the left below!
Write some description and add some tags to it, And you're done!
