Who is the 'Slanderman?'
The Slanderman is the (or a) person who defames one another by posting content to ruin the good standing of great users. Slanderman often makes people upset, angry, downfeeling, embarrassed and nonetheless, bad about themselves. We built ourselves up over a long period of time by having a great name, then Slanderman just comes and knocks us down, in an instant.
Slanderous content may not be as popular now as when this blog was first written, but SM still can come creeping to our doors. We don't know when, we (usually) don't know why, but he just comes. You may patrol the forum or blogs, or anything, and find ' is such a hacker! He hacked my server and stole all of my damn money, IRL! This user must be banned. This stupid dumb cheesy grin skin shall not cut my standards. He should be banned for gods sake.' What if it was a popular user? What if it was stuck with you for the rest of your whole life!
Slanderman just loves blacklists. He wants to marry them! A SM user sometimes loves posting out massive blacklists, embarrassing users of their accidents, sometimes faking that their innocent worst enemy is a 'major hacker' but nonetheless, Slanderman is the world's biggest stupidhead. Slander should not be tolerated and should be reported!
How to Kill Slanderman
Easy, keep the bad message in an archive (if possible), report it and celerbrate for doing the community a massive favour. Even if the victim of the blacklist is not you, or even a complete stranger, you should still report the post so that the person being made fun of does not get embarrassed. Nobody has the right to be accused of something they didn't do!
Slanderman might also have heaps of posts discriminating the welfare of any other user(s). Any kind of defamation (as long as it is 'direct'), even to your server, submission, post or even your 'About Me' section is not on. Let a moderator know right away so it can save you the hassle. It is better being safe than sorry, especially if it is over the Internet.
Conclusion
So defamation was a big problem on PMC in the past, but nobody, not even Notch can tell whether events like such will return. Get ready for Slanderman to come, and get your flags ready!
