Chapter 2
As the lesson drew to a close for lunch Elise sighed, and retrived her book the scarlet haired kid had already left, Elise wandered around the school for a bit she noticed a pathway completely covered by vines it piqued her intrest so she followed it, within seconds the path was competely surrounded by hedges, after a few minutes Elise found herself in a garden filled with cherry blossom trees and many flowers running along the paths. In the centre was a gazebo made enitrely out of stone, smoothed and engraved with intricate designs, Elise was stunned this place was beautiful and more importantly out of the way. She walked into the gazebo and just listend the wind blowing around her moved the trees just slightly to make a audible whoosh.

"Beautiful." She calmly said to herself, she decided this would be her new spot to stay out of the way, she sat down and started her lunch, the sun was high in the sky and she felt its warmth,just as she finished her lunch she heard the bell ring,

"oh shit I'm gonna be late." She thought, she rushed to get out of the garden and as she reached the exit something from her left side hit her, she fell completely over and landed hard,

"Ow". she moaned out, "My head hurts."

"Ohhhh shit I'm really sorry Elise." Replied the Scarlet boy, Elise looked up and saw his expression it was one of complete and utter astonishment,

"Ya hit your head pretty hard Elise so don't move ok.", he calmly told her, Elise looked at him he was doing his best to look after her she then realised she had managed to find a friend even if she didn't have his name, she then saw that the right arm of his blazer had a dark patch she looked at his hand and saw that it was drenched in blood,

"Why are you worrying about me when your arm is bleeding, more importantly how did you manage that!?" She asked worriedly. The boy simply smiled and told her it was no big deal he then gently picked her up and carried her into the school,

"H hey why do you have to carry me, everyone will think we're together." Elise quietly told the Scarlet boy,

He let out a small laugh "Well if they think that why not just ignore them also before you ske me why i didn't just help you walk you have a head injury and more importantly your legs aren't working." He told her,

"How do you know my legs aren't working." She asked, he told her how when he picked her up he could feel the weight from her legs plus the fact that she was only able to sit up by supporting herself with her arms. Elise went quiet, when they reached the nurses office, the Scarlet boy laid her down on a bed and explained what happened to them, the nurse asked how he had cut his arm and he said it was from climbing a fence to retrieve a lost bag.

"I'll look after her now you get going." The nurse told the Scarlet boy, he headed off and told Elise he would be back to see her soon,

"Call me Elly, it's what my friends use to call me and I prefer it to Elise." She told him, he smiled and walked out the room, Elise rolled on to her side and closed her eyes.

When Elise opened her eyes she looked around the room, her vision was fuzzy

"Great I fell asleep, now what time is it." She sleepily told herself, she pushed herself up and sat on the edge of the bed and rubbed her eyes, she looked towards the clock it read twenty past five, Elise jumped out of bed put her shoes grabbed her stuff and ran out of the school,

"Damn it why did no one wake me up." She thought, as she bolted out of the school grounds she saw a few students here and there but paid no real attention. When she reached the train station she she stopped to catch her breath and check the map.
"Ok if I follow the tracks I should get near home." She thought, as Elise planned her route something smashed into the road creating a cloud of dust, she fell back onto the ground.

As the dust cleared Elise could make out a figure, she was terrified at what she saw the figure was huge, it looked toward her and growled out
"Human.", Elise jumped up and started running away not looking back, thoughts rushed through her head, what was that, why was it here and why was it after her. She ducked into an alley to catch her breath, she looked down the road towards where it was she saw nothing.

"Good it's gone." She panted, As Elise took deep breaths she heard a noise above her, she turned her head to look and her blood went cold she was staring into the eyes of a demon,

"Found you human." It laughed out, it swung over and landed infront of her, Elise wanted to run but her legs wouldn't let her she fell to the ground. The demon had blood red eyes, pitch black skin, rows of sharp teeth with two large fangs on the bottom jaw and dark purple cloth drapped over it's body. Elise felt tears streaming down her face
"This demon is going to kill me, why me why now." She thought, she let her head fall and her tears striked the earth she went through all her memories and whispered an aplology to her mother. The demon reached forward to grab her,

"Found you ugly." A voice called out, the demon turned towards the voice and quickly leapt out of the way as a bolt of red lightning struck infront of Elise, somone landed infront of her and she felt a hand lift her chin it was the scarlet boy,

"Y you." Elise whimpered out. The scarlet boy shushed her and turned to the demon,

"You have been causing me pain for a long fucking time now!" The scarlet boy Yelled out, the demon merely laughed, Scarlet growled and swung his right hand infron of him ruby flames followed it and a sword appeared, he grabbed the handle and rushed towards the demon he swung the blade but it leapt high into the air, he followed it along the ground and tried again but the demon dodged behind him and dashed towards Elise.

Elise watched as the demon sprinted towards her she thought she was a goner, but ruby flames erputed around the demon, it screeched a horrifying sound out and looked towards the Scarlet boy it rushed toward him still screeching but he swung his sword and sliced the demon across it's chest and again across it's back, it fell to it's knees and burnt to ash.

Elise watched the boy walk over to her and crouch infront of her,

"You ok Elly?" He asked

"I think so." She replied he smiled and removed his coat and put it around her shoulders, he sat down next to her and he put his arm around her she leaned onto him and they wre just silent for a few minutes,

"What was that thing?" Elise asked,

"Taka." Was his reply, Elise gave him a confused look,

"You asked my name this morning, it's Taka." He explained, Elise smiled and thanked him for telling her but it didn't answer her question, he went on to say that he couldn't tell her then as she was upset and scared, he offered to walk her home

"That would be be great but..." She said

"But what?" Taka asked

"My legs aren't working again." Elise said as her cheeks went red, Taka Laughed and Elise looked away he picked her up one hand under her back the other holding her behind her knees, Elise told Taka where her house was and he carried her straight to it,

"Ok this is it I think my legs will work now." She told him, Taka put her down carefully and allowed her to put weight on her legs but they gave way, he quickly swung her back up and headed to her front door while ignoring her protests, he rang the doorbell and waited,

"Elise! There you are!" Her mother exclaimed, "And whos this and why is he carrying you?" She added, Taka said explained that he was Elise's friend and that she had hurt her leg after she missed the train so he helped her home, her mother was happy that Elise had made a friend and told Taka to carry her up to her room.

After they entered Elise's room Taka slowly let her down and she sat on the edge, Taka stayed standing.

"What was that thing?" Elise asked,

"A Souless." Taka replied, he went on to say that the Soulless were once human but had changed into demons that devour human souls to grow in strength and that they had become one by one of two ways, one was for them to suffur a loss so geat that it racks them with sorrow and they lose control and they may turn into a Souless the other way Taka did not know.

"So the one that attacked me was once human, I wonder what caused them to change." Elise quietly said.

"I don't know but that one had been around for awhile and was causing me all manner os problems." Taka told her, Elise remebered another question she had.

"Taka why do you have those powers and why do you fight the Soulless?" She asked, he smiled and un did his shirt Elise looked away but Taka told her to look, she saw a mark on his right shoulder, it was a flame symbol with ligtning surrounding it. It looked like a tatoo but it seemed burnt on. Taka did his shirt back up and told her that a few months ago he was attacked by a group of weak Souless and that the mark appeared on him then and whenever a Souless has grown to a certain strength that the mark will burn him and he has to hunt them down to cease the pain it brings.

"I tried to research about them but nothing helps." He added, Elise offered to help him but he told her that it was best if she stayed out of it.

"No! Taka you saved me and I have to repay you somehow plus your the only friend I've made, so I can't allow you to do this on your own." She told him, Taka smiled again and replied with he thought that she didn't make friends, Elise looked and down and said that even though she tried he had tricked her into making him a friend of hers. Taka walked over and sat beside her. she leant on his shoudler for a few minutes before Taka said he should leave. Elise walked with him to the door and stood on the step as he said goodbye to her and her mother, Elise's mother went back inside and as Elise turned to follow she heard Taka call hey, she turned round and was pulled into a hug

"Thank you Elly I have been on my own for sometime and have not felt happy for awhile." He whispered, Elise smiled and held him tight and told him it was no problem.
