Whether it's a peaceful, hardcore, or whitelist server, one rule will always be on it. No spamming. If you don't know what spam is (Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages), then allow me to fill you in. Spam is when you fill up chat will something intentionally, usually saying random stuff, or insults.

I don't disagree with the no spam rule, but something that has become apparent to me, is that some servers really don't know how to classify spam. So if you're an owner, or any form of staff, this list will help you.

Somethings that aren't spam:

1. Typing a Long Story or Talking a Lot isn't Spam
Say you're telling a really funny story. You begin to tell it, and it gets really long, then you're kicked for spam. That's what happened to me. I remember in my early days of Minecraft, someone was talking to me through /msg, and I didn't know how to talk in message. So I just replied in chat, and typed a lot, therefore getting muted for "Spam." If someone is just talking normally, or telling a story, and it happens to take up a lot of chat, don't kick/mute them for spam.

2. Caps and Spam are Two Entirely Different Things
Lets say someone says this to another person: I SAW THAT KILL AURA I'M GOING TO KILL YOU! ENJOY YOUR BAN LOSER XD
Some may classify it as spam, but lets take away the caps.
I saw that kill aura I'm going to kill you! Enjoy your ban loser XD
It isn't spam anymore. If this is the case with one of your attempts to accuse someone of spam, then it's not spam. It's caps. Not saying it's a good thing to do though.

3. Correcting a Sentence by Repeating it Without the Typo isn't Spam
Lets say I typed something like: Hey, lets go raid the GoDz faction basr.
I notice the typo, so I press the up key, and enter it as: Hey, lets go raid the GoDz faction base.
This isn't spam, it's just correcting a sentence, but if you spell it wrong again, please just type the word you want without the previous sentence, and put a *.

At the end of the day, it's really up to the owner or staff members to apply these rules. But if you want to treat players fairly, I recommend you use this list. I hope this was helpful to you.
