Speeding up Minecraft - Advanced Level

This is for the advanced users only. You might want to see
the rookie level for speeding up minecraft before going to
this blog. The blog is in my acc.

1. Overclocking - probably the most tiring work in speeding
up computers, overclocking is basically making your cores
work harder. I can't show you guys how to overclock and
I'm sorry. I'm using a laptop. Although I know how to
overclock, I don't have an experience of overclocking at
least once. Hence, I can only explain it to you.

Basically, people overclock their computer with 4 simple steps:
1. Put a bit of speed to the cores(it might be GHz or something)
2. Stress test the computer to see if it is okay
3. If okay, continue, if not, stop
4. Repeat

If you really want to overclock, you can see other people
doing it. I can't really show you how to overclock :(
I need a computer to teach you so.

2. Increase and Decrease the paging file - a.k.a. Virtual
Memory, the paging file is your computer's semi-RAM. When
your computer is out of RAM(probably due to many running
applications running at once), the computer uses your
hard driver as a sub RAM, the paging file, which is
REALLY SLOW! I don't believe on the RAM x 1.5 = paging
file. In this blog, I'll just show you my opinion. If you
want the x1.5 theory, contact me, pm me, or something else.

First, we need to determine your RAM. Do these in order
Start Button>Right click computer>properties
Under the system, which can be commonly this

Then, add the page file depending on your RAM.
On the same page(the computer properties), click
advanced system settings. See the Performance section?
Click the settings on its lower right corner. You would
see a circle saying "Adjust for best performance." Although
this is out of topic, tick the circle saying "Adjust for best
performance." Beside Visual Effects is "Advanced." Click it.
Tick the circle beside programs on the bottom of
"Choose how to allocate processor resources."

See the Virtual memory? Click change, uncheck the box that
says "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives,"
tick the circle beside "Custon Size," and set the Initial
and maximum size. Initial and maximum size are the same, if
the initial size is 1000MB, then the maximum size is also
1000 MB. The amount you will put on your paging file depends on
your RAM.

1 GB RAM - 6000MB Paging file
2 GB RAM = 3000MB Paging file
4 GB RAM = 2000MB Paging file
8 GB RAM = do not put a paging file
Tadaa! You're done!

3. Tweaking Windows Services -
There are alot of services that we do not usually use. They
just slightly make our computer slow. To stop unused services,
press the windows button and R at the same time. Input "services.msc"
and click OK. There are MANY services that you do not use, like
windows update and windows search. Since we have different services
that we do not use, I will just tell you how to disable a service.
Simply, right click the service>properties>startup type>disable.
I highly recommend that YOU RESEARCH THE SERVICE THAT YOU ARE DISABLING.
Some services may be needed by your computer to work. If you disabled
the wrong service, then good-luck with your computer.

4. Uninstalling Mods - Uninstalling Mods is in the
advanced level since it involves the Trial-and-Error. This is
simply testing if one of your mods make a huge impact on
your frame rate. To do this, put all of your mods on a single folder
separated from the minecraft folder. Test one of them separately
and record their impact. For example,

CLEAN MINECRAFT - 85 FPS
Mobs Mod - 40 FPS
Blood Mod - 50 FPS

It may be sad, but you got to uninstall the mod that
has the most impact on your FPS. It's for the best.

5. Download or make a SMALL texture pack - If you have a slow
computer(this is why you're reading this), DO NOT USE
TEXTURE PACKS THAT ARE HIGHLY DETAILED AND REALISTIC. I tested
a 512x512 pack and got 40 FPS. When I used the default texture pack,
I was about 150 FPS. What a huge 110 FPS drop! There is a
texture pack called TinyPixels that you need to check out. It will
make your minecraft fast. If not, make your own texture
pack. Make is as less detailed as possible. Think about grass -
you can just make it a plain color green. That is less detailed than
the default grass. Thus, your minecraft will be much faster.

6. DO NOT USE REGISTRY CLEANERS AND DEFRAGMENTERS - There's a reason
why Microsoft did not make or advance the usage of Registry cleaners.
It messes with your registry and can cause computer issues. Seriously,
don't be fooled with registry cleaners and defragmenters even though
they claim to make your computer "100% faster". They actually
claim your computer to be 100% slower to be honest.

7. Change your desktop background to a plain color. This is a
cheap move, but I just recommend this for computers that
are really slow. If you're a performace lover, I recommend
you to do this.

8. Put javaw.exe(minecraft) to high priority - No
need for explanation. Search for task manager in start
button. Now click processses. Before all of this,
you should have your minecraft opened already. Then, search for
javaw.exe. Right click javaw.exe and set priority to high.
