At first you will spawn somewhere random, you can just find things and craft you need wood find a tree and punch it for this you will need to hold the left mouse button untill it pops off, once you have got some bits of wood place one in any corner of your'mini` crafting table.

you will get four wooden planks with them planks fill you 'mini` crafting table and take out a carfting table
this one is bigger you will make sticks by using planks one on the other and making a pickaxe you can find these recipes on google if you look it up. so you will need to mine by now to get coal, iorn, gold, cobble, lapis, redstone and diamond so go mining use your wooden pickaxe to make a cobble on and so on. when you find iron you will need a furnace to smelt your iron ore into iron ingots you can use wood, charcoal, blaze rods anything hot or that will burn. you will need a base plan to like keep your chests and sleep at night because their are alot of monsters soon you will have to kill some of these monsters to finish the game (goto the end) so like endermen don't look at them in the eye they will get really angery.

you will need to kill endermen for
their ender pearls witch you can use blaze powder to make into eye of enders or use to teleport with the cost of damage.

you'll need a sword and armour the amour its leather from cows iron gold diamond and chain witch you cant get in the game right now well in survival i think that will get you started of in survival what about building things like in creative theirs not alot to know about creative double tap space to fly and press shift or double tap space again to come down your inventory can change when ever if you are no good with this menu you have right now you can mod your minecraft but do it safe and backup your minecraft if you dont then you could lose all of you minecraft saves and server ips and stuff like that
