Anyway, cheesy intro aside, how strong is Minecraft's main character; Steve? Many people on youtube have claimed that they know the answer, and quite frankly I struggle to argue with their logic. Gold is heavy, so a full inventory of gold must be the heaviest, right?
Well it’s also possible to add shulker boxes to that. But are shulker boxes heavy? I always thought that shulker boxes were like little interdimensional knapsacks that just moved items to other pocket realms–like what some people say happens with Endermites. If they really do just move items through dimensions, then the gold would not contribute to the weight, only the boxes (I’m not counting bundles until they’re in the game).
You hopefully see my reasoning. There are many answers to the question, and it all depends on how much one wishes to gatekeep it. Also, Netherite uses 4 gold in the recipe, meaning it is at least 4 times as heavy as gold. What is even more peculiar is that we don’t know what the Netherite scraps weigh-in at? Are they heavy? I’d assume so, but we don’t know.
Anyway, let’s do some maths! 100cm^3 of gold (1 cubic metre) weighs about 19,320 kilograms. Now we multiply that by 4 to find the minimum weight of Netherite, which is 77,280 kilograms.
Netherite blocks can be stacked up to 64, and there are 36 slots in the inventory. (77,280⋅64)36=178,053,120 , it is important we use the proper order of operations, with brackets being used first. There is also the off-hand slot, which is able to be filled (in the Java Edition). Then we get a sum of 182,999,040 kilograms. BUT, using commands it is possible to fill in all 4 of the armour slots! Then we get a sum of 202,782,720 kilograms! It keeps getting bigger!
Now, for the people who believe that shulker boxes contribute to the weight, we simply multiply 202,782,720 with 41 (36 slots in the inventory, plus 4 armour slots and 1 off-hand slot).
202,782,720⋅41=8,314,091,520
The heaviest trucks are nearly 4,536 kilograms, meaning that Steve is carrying OVER 600,000 trucks! That is a lot!
