This story has been written for no particular reason. It is based off of now current contest (The Barbarians Are Coming). The locations mentioned in the story below will also be in my contest entry here. The story has not been finished, however, it is praised, I will continue in regular installments.

The night was still young. Steve arose from his bed and placed his bare feet on the cold wooden floor. A shirt lay hanging from the foot of the furniture. He reached out and collected it into his hands. As he clutched it to his face, taking in the scent of his lost brother, a thunderous hand banged on his door. Steve looked in the direction of the sound and paused. He never received visitors and so he was concerned that they were unwelcome. He dressed in the shirt and quickly charged to door, swinging it open, ready for a fight. All that he was presented was a humble messenger carrying a letter addressed to him. Without hesitation, he seized the item and slammed the door.

"Brother Steven, I awaited your last letter, however it never arrived. Either you did not write one or it was lost. I am hoping for the latter, however, I am no fool. You have been distancing yourself from me ever since we entered this realm. I suggest you come to my home in the Abandon Valley right away. I miss you."

A shiver glazed Steve's spine and rested at his neck. Never had Mathew displayed emotions. Especially towards the one who had caused them so much trouble. Immediately he knew there was danger, although he could not tell where or when, it always had a way of finding him, and this was one such time.
