How to Stay Alive

Before we start you must always remember one thing. The world is your's to take and as long as you have a set goal and come prepared, you will not die.... Unless you trip into lava. It happens to the best of us.

STEP ONE: The first spawn

You spawn near a beach with a full day ahead of you before nightfall. That means you need as many weapons, armor, and food as you can get so time to get to it.

STEP TWO: Get your wood on

If you spawn near a forest You should attempt to break an entire tree by hand. You should receive enough wood to make a crafting bench and a wooden pick. Only make one pick and turn the rest of the logs into planks. You don't want to waste your time making wooden weapons to break down trees just yet.

Depending on your area you will need to find a way to find stone. Run towards a hill and beat the living Jesus out of that dirt! Bam, stone. Try to mine enough stone to make one of each weapon except for a hoe. Now kill the trees. Take out quite a few of them to make at least one 64 of wooden planks. Grab your crafting bench, it's time to move it.

STEP THREE: Fields of slaughter

"Daw, look at all the cute animals! They're so adorable up close!"
Good, now slaughter them all . _ .
As demented as it may seem, you need as much food as you can get and that means no mercy... Cows drop uncooked beef which heals much more health than pork, so cows are your best bet. You want to kill as many as possible but don't waste too much time, just get around 10 steaks. Now on to the sheep, kill just enough to get 3 wool. You'll use this to make your bed for the night.
Now you've probably collected quite a few pieces of leather from that massacre so keep it. You will need at least 9 to make a leather tunic, but more is also a good idea. Tunics give the most armor so don't waste leather on anything else, but now onto the most important part...

STEP FOUR: There's no place like home

Your house is your most important aspect when in minecraft. Without it you are left defenseless, cold, and quite frankly f*cked. Here I will show you the 4 basic strategic houses you can build and always remember to put torches up inside. Before you begin to build attempt to find a nearby cave and mine out all of the coal you can. don't travel to far in or you might get attacked. now make some safety torches!!!

1: Underground Vault

This a simple 5x5x5 hole in the ground with a wooden roof. Use a shovel to dig it out and replace the surface with wood planks. Now you enter by making a small staircase down the base and putting a door there. Place your bed inside and sleep through the night. Because a vault is so easy to make and can be made to any size you can focus more on collecting items and not have to worry about nightfall coming too soon.

2: Tree House

Use your special bench to craft some ladders up a fairly tall tree. Break the leaves until you almost reach the very top. Leave about 3 blocks of leaves there and begin to level out floor. you will then use your wood to fill in the gaps in your floor enough to make a 5x5 square. Now build a 4 block tall wall with a roof, leaving you 3 blocks of space. put a trap door near the ladder and your done. The Advantage to a tree house is how far away from the ground it is making it one of the safest houses

3: Mountain Cave

Run towards a nearby hill or mountain side. Yes, you must always run. RUN, DAMMIT! Now begin digging into the mountain just enough for you to fit in. Once you're about 6 blocks in you must start making a room while still keeping your 1x2 door way. When you are finished place a door down along with your bed and take a nap. This is a very simple and yet one of the strongest houses you can make because 3 out of 4 walls are covered by the mountain.

4: The "Oh god, I forgot to make a house and it's night time" House

Yes, it is dark outside and that means monsters want to eat your flesh. Time to make a safety box!!! Simply dig a 3 block deep hole and cover the top. Now it's pitch black, so just dig out until you have enough space to put in a bed. Night night, hope those extra steaks were worth it.

STEP FIVE: Resupply and keep track

The sun is up and the mobs are gone, so it's time to awake from your tiny house and smell the fresh air. Now there is one last thing to do and that is start mining for coal and iron. I recommend getting iron first to begin upgrading your weapons and armor. Then mine out the entire cave for every resource you can get including stone. With this you will be able to make a furnace to smelt your iron and better equip yourself.

From here on out you won't need me anymore. Now what you must do is up to you. Explore your world and play minecraft as it was meant to be played.

Peace Out :D
