1. What to do in this new fantastic world?

Obviously you start like any minecraft survival game, you get wood and go mining. However, after destroying one tree create a crafting table and create an axe. This is where the forestry mod kicks in. All you have to do now is chop down the piece at the bottom of the tree and voila you have all the wood from that tree. After collecting wood you may come across some rubber trees. Now, rubber trees are a special type of tree. I will come on to rubber trees in part 2 of this tutorial guide to technic. Now make a base in the side of a cliff and start mining. There are many new ores such as copper, tin, silver exc. We will be needing alot of everything. Copper ore is easily found along with tin also. We will need these for batteries and cables. So you will need to go mining for a couple of hours possibly. I will attach some images later on.

2. The Amazing Rubber Trees

After mining, that screenshot was after about 10 minutes of mining, you will need rubber to start making your basic machinery. You will need a rubber tap to get rubber from rubber trees. This is how you make one.

Now what we are look for is the yellow blob on the side of the rubber trees. All you do is right click on the blob with your tap and voila you have your resin. Smelt this in a furnace and you will have rubber. If you need more ores go mining again but hopefully you did enough mining and don't have to. Collect all rubber tree saplings and plant them. We will need a lot of rubber!!!

3. The Power of the Generator

Today we will look at the generator. Firstly you will need to smelt all your resin because we need a lot of rubber. Get some copper ingots, iron ingots and tin ingots. You will also need some redstone. Now smelt 8 of your iron ingots into refined iron. Put these in a square like you would a chest to make a machine block. Then we will need a normal cobblestone furnace. Next, we need an RE Battery. To do this we need some copper cable which is made like this.

This is insulated copper cable. Now to make the RE Battery we build it like this

Then to make the Generator we build it like this

That is how to make a Generator now put some coal in it to make some power.

4. Maceration is the key

Now we are going to make a macerator. A macerator can do things such as turn gravel into flint and ores into dust. For every ore you put in the macerator you get two dust. If you put the dust in a furnace then you can make an ingot. So for example if I had one iron ore and put it in the macerator then I would get two dust. If I then put the dust in the furnace and smelt them I will get two iron ingots. So technically you are getting twice as much iron as you normally would. This is how you make the macertor. First we will need some insulated copper cables. Then we need to make a circuit board like so.

Then we will need another machine block as I told you in part 3. Then we need three flint and two cobblestone. This is how we make the macerator.

5. Pipes are essential

Right, so now we will look at pipes. We will need some glass, some wood and some cobblestone. To make a pipe it is simply like this

Now that we have some pipes we put a wooden pipe on the macerator and use cobblestone pipes to make the dust go to the furnace. However, it is not that simple we will require a redstone engine and lever. A lever is simply one cobble beneath one stick. The redstone engine is built like this. First we need 2 wooden cogs built like this.

After getting two of them we make the redstone engine like so,

After you get your redstone engine place next to the wooden pipe and the lever next to the redstone engine. If you have done this right you just flick the switch and your dust will simply go to the furnace.

6. The Beginning of EE2

You are probably wondering what EE2 is. EE2 is Equivalent Exchange 2 where you exchange things for equal value. So one cobblestone piece is worth 1 EMC so you could exchange that for dirt. So first we are going to need obsidian using a diamond pickaxe. We need about 20 pieces. Once you have the obsidian make a portal to the Nether. Go to the Nether and mine a lot of glowstone. The first thing we need in EE2 is a Philosopher's stone which is made like this:

Now that we have the Philosopher's Stone we can make a transmutation table. Like so:
