The new update flips around the bottom texture of all polygons for all models. This includes ALL skins anywhere. The bottom of heads, animals butts, hands, feet, everything is now flipped.

I read about get satisfaction on minewiki and it's announced there that Mojang doesn't watch the site or even care about what is voted there.
Most of the more voted treads are ignored unfortunately...
I'm moderately distressed because I run a site with a directory of hundreds of the best Minecraft skins available and having to edit and reupload all of them would not only be a major hassle, but because of the structure of the hosting service I use, I would lose all of my download count information, which isn't really critical but something I really like to keep up with, not to mention having to change all the mob textures for the several texture packs I manage.
The story with Get Satisfaction is even more backward than what you described. Mojang actually has a person on their payroll named Michael Finch (if memory serves me) who is supposed to monitor all bug issues and report major problems to Mojang. The problem is that I've had a few discussions with Michael and he's highly opinionated. As such, the only issues he reports to Mojang are the one's he thinks are important. For instance, back when the 1.8 full chest crash bug was a problem, I reported it in Get Satisfaction, Michael saw it and sent it up, and Jens pushed an update to fix it the next day. But that only happened because Michael thought it was important enough to report. I've seen other threads with major support backing them and he will come back to it every once in a while and talk about how he thinks it's a bad idea. They really should get someone more reliable to do it.
Twitter helps a little but Notch only reply to so few.
And the official site of minecraft is also a little bugged, I don't even want to think if someday I loose or get my account stolen.
