*Warining*   Now, Before you skim this blog, just keep in mind that whatever I say should be taken face value and is only my opinion. Opinions and thoughts are what makes the Earth go round. Now if you didn't read the warning, that's fine but just please don't send hate mail to my doorstep :D Okay so i've been on PlanetMinecraft for a very long time now, longer than I care to share (Makes me feel oldddd). And over that span I have seen my fair share of Do's and Don'ts. I always skimmed them and they generally say the same things, "Do not talk to others on the internet, those people are BAD" or "If you plan on being on the internet wear your safety gear". I'm not kidding these are some of the things people say!



I'm no qualified genius but isn't this a little harsh? You can't go on the internet without an open mind it just doesn't turn out, you either get offended or hate people (sometimes both). Let me start out this.... essay with a little story (a very short story). It must have been a month ago when I landed a small server, I didn't know any of the people other than the friends that had found it the previous night. While my friends were playing a player hoped on named "dell*enterrandomstringofnumbershere*" It was obvious that it was a girl or at least a guy trying to impersonate a girl. My friends were jokingly saying to "Minecraft Marry her" and you know what? I played along, RP is extremely fun in my opinion so I hopped on bored and made a church and proceeded to "Marry" the player. By this time I had gotten to know the server owner and the rest of the players and started skyping them. Soon after we built a house together and lived a happy ever life inside of minecraft. On the other hand outside of minecraft she gave me her skype and we started chatting, for real. Then it moved on to texting. Now I haven't met her in real life and I don't know if I ever plan to or not but the point is she is a very nice respectable person that just so happened to not be a predator.



Look my point is, not everyone on the internet are bad. And a wide majority of the people you think are stalkers are actually probably younger than you, unless your 9, then... probably not.



I can't stand when people are rude to you or others on a server because they think your a stalker or looking to get hooked up or something.



I'm not saying to trust everyone on the internet but just have an open mind  and just be courteous to those around you, who knows? You might just meet your new best friend!


There's so much more I should talk about here but I think you get the point. staying safe is different than being a rude son-of-a-gun on the internet.
