So I have the Technic Pack Launcher and I play a LOT of Technic itself. I get on fine with stuff like Industrial craft and Buildcraft and I've not really looked at forestry and railcraft. But Thaum craft is sat there mocking me because I have NO idea what to do with it!

On my latest world, I've set up next to a Thaum Craft altar thingy. All it does is sit there and spawn purple slimes and flying crystals which will knock several shades of **** you. I've been trawling across NEI using the recipe mode and hardly any thaumic stuff has a recipe and even if it does it needs something else - which doesnt have a recipe any way.

My main issue is that Thaumcraft has tons of cool stuff, but no way to know how to access it or craft it. I've got 2 'vis' crystals, a special wood from a damn near indestructible tree and a grub husk. Short of placing it next to a bomb I cant see any use for it.

Today especially I have gotten more annoyed after a stray mining laser shot hit the one of the altar pillars and it BLEW UP. YES. GONE. BOOM. I have a back-up of the world for if I do figure out what it is for but I just suspect it is a trolling tool -.-

If someone would like to point me to a decent walkthrough on how to get started I would be grateful or if you feel like having your own rant about Thaum craft or the Technic pack then I direct you to the comment section below.
