So passed the year of 2020 and now it's time for 2021 to come. I was supposed to finish this a few hours ago, but that's it.
A poem that summarized my own 2020 in general with alternate lyrics from a Japanese song (Hotto Miruku - Hot Milk).
The ancient has seen its end, in double-twenty of twenty-first
From the ashes come the phoenix, which shines brightly despite the odds;
Oh bed, you can still wait, as your life is no longer valid.
When I awake from my lovely dreams, my solitude will lessen in time.
The pandemic may have transformed our inner thoughts
Our innermost desires and our way of life;
"What're we living for?", a question inside us
Still we don't know the answer...
Other people have always been, left behind in the darkness
Their possessions faded in history, their beloved ones suffered in grief;
While I'm struggling in life, my effort never in vain
For they always stand by me, standing alongside me till the end.
And from the palm of my hand lies the duty, the responsibility that stays to the end
Even though the burden lays hard inside my mind, I shall not regret this day.
And that's when I started writing, the habit that dies so hard,
For my most important person, for everything I stood for and loved.
(I must admit you are always the one whom I really cared for,
As a lone candle shining through the darkest depths, without regard to your safety.
The apple in my eyes, just like Selene to Endymion...)
And so as my studies keep going on a spree,
I still wonder how they are doing over there.
"Don't you care for yourself?", that question raises again
But I have no idea anyways...
Just another endless night, alongside my most beloved;
A hot mug of milk will do, keeping the pressure out of mind.
