The man didn't know what feeling came over him. He began to feel like his thought process was slower, his body less willing to walk around. The Voice began to speak again.

"Ah, you are tired. I understand how you must feel. Suddenly inside of a new world, when all you have ever known is that empty Void." The man felt something come over him. His eyes slowly began to close, and he didn't want them to open. But, if the Voice had caused this to happen, then it must be good. Before the man thought much time had passed, he opened his eyes again. He was invigorated with a new energy, and he knew that he had just slept for the first time. It was a wonderful feeling. But then, any feeling would be! He was finally out of the Void!

Very little time had passed when the man realized that he hadn't seen anything but flattened green for miles. The man decided to call this green "grass", because to call things by its colors would be silly. If there were two things colored green, then you would be calling two things by the same name. Anyway, the man thought to himself. The flattened grass went on for miles, and miles. The man was worried that he would experience boredom, among all this beauty. Then the Voice began to speak.

"Ah, my child. You realize what boredom is? You are very clever. I do want you to be happy, so I have been working very hard to do something. If you could close your eyes for five seconds?" The man closed his eyes. Suddenly, the grass felt different under his feet. He felt like he was tipping back. Opening his eyes, he saw that now the land wasn't so flat, and that there were bumps of grass! But, looking ever so closely...

"Have you seen what I have created for you? The little bit of gray? I know you'll find out what you can do with it. You'll be able to figure it out yourself."

This gray was hidden behind some green, and some brown that looked similar to the grass (it didn't take the man long to call the gray "Stone" and the brown "Dirt"). What was its use, though? The man knew what grass was for. To give him stability, something to stand on. But, this stone? Would he simply fall through? Would he begin to float in the sky? All these were thoughts running through the man's head. But, he knew he would not be harmed. The Voice would only protect him from dangers.

So the man walked over to the stone. He wanted to stand on top of the stone. But, it was covered with grass on the top. He tried to push it. The grass wouldn't move. He tried to pull it. The grass wouldn't move. He tried to even blow on it to get the grass to move. But the grass wouldn't move. Finally, the man looked into the sky.

"Ah, you have run into some problems. Well, I should have told you. Although in this world you can build anything your mind could dream, you must destroy something for it to begin. Do not worry. This world goes on forever, and whatever you destroy here can be easily replaced somewhere else in the world."

To destroy something, the man thought, would be to kill beauty! But, if it was what the Voice wanted him to do...

He smashed the grass with his fist.

The grass was left as dirt. It simply lay on the ground, and the man picked it up and looked at it. It was significantly smaller than the size it was before being smashed. Many of these could fit in his pocket, and very many more would fit inside.

"You have discovered the secret to how this world works. The items of this world will always decrease in size when destroyed. But, you can bring it back to full size by placing it down."

The man took this information without blinking an eye. He finally took that giant leap to stand on the stone. And all he noticed was that the stone gave him slightly more stability. He didn't know how to break it. He tried using his fist, but it wouldn't work. He finally had to give up when he began to feel tired.

He soon fell into another deep sleep...
