Hello there, guys! Carson here with another blog rant type of thing. Today I'll be talking about something that's been bothering me lately: the forums. Let's get started!
What happened?
The forums are supposed to be a place where people can talk, have fun, and resolve issues. This is what the forum used to be like. Before I took a hiatus in late July last year, I was very active in the forums. I spent most of ny time on the internet posting on forum topics or creating ones on this website. Back then, the topics were much better than today's. People getting angry and starting flame wars only popped up once every week, not every day. Even then, they weren't as bad as what some flame wars are today. For example, a very "flammable" (olololol) topic is ageism. I, for one, don't agree with it, and most of PMC dosen't either. So, we can agree that about 80% of us don't agree with it. (give or take a few percentiles.) Therefore, there is no need to keep staring topics on that. This happens with many topics, not just ageism. With rants, one of my blogs got very bad reception. Instead of going on the forums and going "NO ONE APPRECIATES THE PURE GENUIS OF ME" I made a mental note and went, 'Hm, don't do that again!" Another thing these days is SERVER ADVERTSING. Okay, we don't need your +~* 24 HOUR NO LAG FACTION HARDCORE *~+ being bumped every 25 minutes. Now how can we fix this? That's what this next section is for.
How can we fix this?
Just, don't get angry so easily. That's all I can say. Use common sense, make mental notes.
